Over here in Malaysia, we got pretty cheap CD and tape manufacturing services. most of it underground so there are no websites to check out.
Anybody need anything, feel free to drop me an email or pm or just post here and i'll try to get some prices.
Off the top of my head :-
CDs
500 pcs @ US$0.60 per piece
FIlm and plate = US$20 |

| Is there a decent pressing plant in North America for doing small 7" runs that won't give you trouble with clearing small samples? I know United is really adamant about documenting the rights to use samples, so I can't go through them. |

Try Bill Smith. You can ask Hells Headbangers for their contact. _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not have access to my old Yahoo addresses.

Hey. Can anybody give me a place to go for vinylprinting in small pressings, like 100 copies or thereabout. I am trying to get an album out, but most places I contact have a lower limit of 500, and that is just to many.
Thanks |

| Bill Smith as well should be able to facilitate a small quantity pressing for you. And as previously mentioned Aardvark would be a good recommendation for the mastering/plating... which is where your main costs are going to lie in such a small pressing. You could even use Hamlet Printing for the record labels and have them shipped to Bill Smith as well which would save you a few bucks... pretty much any plant is going to charge you a min. of 1000 labels printed no matter how large the pressing # I believe. |

Pirates Press should be able to take care of flyers for pretty cheap. Did you also contact 1984? I saw Amy last week when I went to pick up the Damaar posters. _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not have access to my old Yahoo addresses.

United has a similar deal. I used them in the past for really small runs. _________________ The only email I have access to is nwnprod (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not have access to my old Yahoo addresses.

Unless I already added this; DGR handles:
*CD replication
*printing services
at a very good price. Ships by FedEx. |

my last lp cover I used
http://www.doradopress.com/
reasonable prices but you provide your own film. I think they now take digital files but I never did that.
I don't know their current prices but the last time I used them 500 standard covers with no options cost about $650 including freight from S.Cal to Oregon, price not including filmwork. |

for vinyl in the USA:
http://www.musicolrecording.com/vinyl/index.html
Ask for Warren if you call them, great guy. Last time I used them it was about $1300 for 500 vinyl including freight from Ohio to Oregon. I am sure price is up a bit since then. But they are cool and treat you well.
By the way, I loved using Musicol.
I was treated poorly at Erika Records, I would never use them again, they always "get" you (to put it nicely) on their "hidden costs" which always includes a 10% overrun which I guarantee they will charge you for. Watch out at Erika on the freight. The time I used them they used some freight company that charged a "lift gate" fee, which meant when the truck showed up at my house they wanted an extra $100 right out of your pocket. |

the highest quality printing for an lp jacket that I know of in North America (far superior to anything Pirates Press can do) is:
http://www.stoughtonprinting.com/
If you are familiar with what those heavy laserdisc gatefold covers are like, that is what they print.
but they are expensive and have a minimum order of 1000 jackets. I believe they cost $2300 plus shipping for 1000 gatefold covers. I do not know what standard jackets cost. Also this price is about 1 year old. |

Try Amtech based in Canada: www.duplication.ca/
They provide the BEST prices I have ever seen for cassette duplication. |
