Kings of Punk was the first one I heard and it still destroys, so I had to pick that one. But so much of their stuff is amazing. Feel the Darkness would come in second for me but just barely.

Now I have to put some Poison Idea on.

Would've voted for the "Ian Mackaye" EP... went with "War all the Time"...

Kings of Punk, Pick Your King, Feel The Darkness all tie for me. Poison Idea are one of the best US punk bands. Might listen to the new one.

Feel The Darkness is a masterpiece, Kings of Punk is as good as the first round of US HC got...but Latest Will is my personal fave and more than deserves props.

Jerry was the principal songwriter in PI, not Pig afaik. I remember some interview where he said he came up the songs almost in their entirety - chords as well as lyrics. Kinda surprised.

I voted for Feel The Darkness, but the Filthkick and Religion & Politics Pt. 1 and 2 EPs are also essential. "Blockhead" and "Ballad Of A Pre-Op" would draw for my favourite of all PI songs.

A buddy of mine interviewed P. Champ in the late 80s and said he managed to smoke an entire pack of cigs, drink a fifth of Jim beam and devoured two XL pizzas by the end of their talk Surprised

the thing that sold me on poison idea is the live shit on their "mating walruses" video. that version of "hangover heartattack" is fucking insane. they lost me completely after "war all the time", which i think is a great album. "pick your king" is awesome.

I ticked "war all the time", but would have chosen the "pick your king" ep.

Seen them a couple times back in the day, the smaller te club the better it was.

I once saw them in a small venue in austria around 1990. there was a bunch of garage / rockabilly guys there who decided to smash bottles on the floor before the show started. So, while Poison Idea were playing, the whole floor was covered in shards from those massive beer bottles. only punks and contrabass dudes were dancing, all the hardcore kids with their chinese slave labour shoes didn't dare to.

a bit later I saw them at the FriSon in Switzerland. Huge stage. Pig Champion needed a chair (I think he did on all the shows actally) to rest during the songs. Also, when they arrived, the tour manager positioned chairs between coach / backstage, about every 20 meters so Pig Champion could take a seat on the way there.
