For me Master of Puppets was the first metal album in 1986, when I've heard first time, I was totally impressed by their energy. Absolutely a cult album, though I don't like the song "The thing that should not be"!

You've nailed it down, dude!! I think just because they kinda ehhh Rolling Eyes
changed over the years, even the older albums get overlooked by now, which I do not get AT ALL. The first three albums are so ridiculously good, it's insane!!

I enjoy MOP very much!
"Ride the Lightning" infected me with metal after all.
I enjoy Beherit too.

Master Of Puppets is a good album but nothing compared to Ride The Lightning.Kill 'em all is a better lp too.

"Battery" (killer opener), "Leper Messiah", and "Damage, Inc.".

My thoughts exactly. The stigma attached to Metallica is enough to drive some metalheads away from their early classic albums even, but I still hold fast to my praise & enjoyment of "Ride the lightning" and "Master of puppets". But M.O.P. is their most solid work for sure, and probably the apex speed metal album too. None shall compare!

Grew up listening to METALLICA...I like everything up through "And Justice For All..."...when the Black album came out I was totally turned off by the direction their sound was taking...

i will say though, that i think kill em all is better...hm, i guess it depends on the mood. but i always found ride the lightning somewhat boring compared to those two (kill em all and mop). rtl, is still very good though.

I still enjoy Metallica. The first time I ever listened to songs such as 'Battery', 'Disposable Heroes', and 'Welcome Home (Sanitarium)' did catch my attention as damn good Metal. Even though I would love to bullshit people into thinking I sit around listening to Archgoat/Beherit/Sarcofago and other I_LOVE_PENIS cults bands of the sorts 24/7/365...I'll put on "RTL", "MOP", and "AJFA" because they have solid damn riffs.
