Covers like in the glory 80ies, with all that half naked warriors and stuff.
OK that's C64 but I couldn't find others so fast. Comics and Art in this style are my favourite. I wonder how they can color it so realistic?! Airbrush? Anyway, for me far superior to any plastic-photoshop crap...wish I could draw so good. I could freak out about all these details and microscopic textures!!! _________________ Good/Bad traders list

Great colors !!!
When I was young (15 or something like that), I drew some demon snakes like this one !
Will take a look in my old stuff and post it if I find the drawing !
there's just 2 details I don't like
- The face of the demonsnake looks too funny, hehe
...his eyes, I think !
- The skeletons are too small compared to the shields and axes !
OK, let's say it's 5 years old childs remains, haha! _________________

Yes you're right...you have a better eye on things like that (comparison of heights).
I think these colors were made with airbrush, were they?
However, I stopped drawing since ages. Like music too, I'm just frustrated too fast when things are not like I want them to be. I never learned to draw people and faces 100% properly and good. _________________ Good/Bad traders list

"The Horned God" series which Simon Bizley drew was great. I love the old 2000AD comics, really reminds me of being a kid. But for totally OTT artwork the Warhammer 40,000 shit has it down. |

An intense cover is always a MAJOR plus with metal. I want the whole world and experience. The more demons, skeletons, dragons, and fucking dungeons the better. Though I should make it clear when any of that kind of art is done to be ironic or to be cute and retro or poke fun at metal, I fucking reject it. I take all that stuff seriously. Sorry if I think a picture of a fucking skeleton warrior in a swamp is way fucking cooler and interesting than some stupid photoshop image of band members and dumb Designers Republic shit.
Loan Sloane by Phillippe Druillet was always extreme like metal for me. Bisley is very metal. I think Moebius is more of a prog vibe, but he's a master of fantasy imagery. I think Jae Lee could do some sick cover art if he was ever to deal with the metal world. Any old D&D or fantasy novel looks like it could be an intense power metal album cover...
I love that kinda stuff.
Was just talking about Heavy load covers earlier today. |

Cirith Ungol 3 firsts album covers are masterpieces !!!
I also think to Eric Larnoy a french artist who died young (35) in 1996(?)
He created Manilla Road "Open the gates" and "The deluge"
Fucking great artworks !!! _________________
