London is good, but there isn't a 'scene' as such- stratanael do a great job with shows, but the majority of attendees of underground shows aren't even English!!! Still things are better than they have been for a while so I can't really complain. |

Hahaha. Well, you are in Hereford and if Hereford is anything like Worcester, I expect that there will be only 20 people at tops who are actual fans of metal. |

Haha. Well, personally I like some early Pantera, but I don't get the whole Dimebag worship crap either. |

Hi all, just resurrecting an old thread if thats possible or relevant.
Anyway was just wondering if there's anyone from the Hampshire area as there are a tonne of posers round there, so does anyone come from round that area or will be going to university round there?
Any good bands from the area also? Most of them look like trendy shit! |

Hampshire is one of the bigger counties of the UK so i'm sure your experience would vary from place to place. However, as it seems you already 'know' there are a tonne of posers there i'd suggest you go somewhere else (when you're old/grown up enough)?  |

Well really everywhere is crowded with posers, but I've been informed that this area really isn't good. The only decent band I like from that place as far as I can remember is Moss and even they won't bother playing their hometown because its so bad there!
But like you said, its a big county and there's two universitys in Southampton so there must be at least a few people there! |

London is very cool for gigs indeed. It is great having people from all over the place turning up and going nuts; tonnes of south Americans, a bunch of Aussies, Germans, Frenchies etc. I think London gigs would be extremely dull with just English folk turning up.
I'm living in Cornwall during semester time(now) and the 'metal scene' ain't so lively here, but that doesn't bother me so much. A majority of the 'metal heads' i've met are hardly worth talking to: just extremely childish, predictable and image obsessed.
