Hahaha good to know!
I would be interested in a demo once that is recorded.
Maybe I can find your debut in some bargain bin?
If I recall correctly the production was not that crushing... or is it just my failing memory? _________________ Oh, what fun we have when we exist.

Technicality if done right can be good but trouble is most of the time, technicality is not done right...
Mind you like I said, my attack was on brutal and melodeath bands (I like At the Gates, first few Suffocation etc but afterwards I don't care for their followers...)
As for Sarpanitum, didn't do anything for me personally... |

the 1st cd production is awful, i dont like it , it was mixed by dan swano , but still sounds awful. The 2nd cd was alot better.
The new stuff will be more invein of our pre cd recordings , i guess more like some of the tracks from the 1994 demo. We have the tracks recorded on one of those 8 track home recording things at the moment and they sound soo heavy , so hopefully we can get an even better sound in the studio.
Im pretty sure you can find both our cds cheaper than a mars bar. Most system shock cds are availble at rock bottom prices _________________ Metal Archives is the place legends are born.

So I remember correctly. Will keep my eyes open - keep us posted!
@ Nekro
Fair enough... similar here but maybe I have a higher tolerance for fretboard wanking and spastic drum fills, harhar (doing in vocals in a semi-technical band, so...). _________________ Oh, what fun we have when we exist.

Haha. OK then, just not always my thing. Well some of the more technical Death albums are pretty cool (not too bothered about the last one though...) and stuff like that.
Anyway back to good UK bands. One band I remember being pretty decent is one from Scotland by the name of Daemonolith, I know they're not local to my area but I remember liking them.
Any other good local bands for other posters? |

Sid from Korpse is still playing death metal with Bonesaw, along with me and some other assorted scoundrels. We do have a tiny bit of the Korpse sound. PM if you want a demo! I put up a thread in the trade forum a few weeks back.

Sarpanitum came up with a pretty happening debut, Crepitation are rather superfluous (just to name an example). |
Haha, I've been in both of those bands! I regret them both now!
I know it's not an impartial view, but I felt the Sarpantium album fell flat on it's arse because of the terrible production, I think the songs are actually well written.
Mingeater - I think I've spoken to you before on myspace ( ) - which is the first album? I've got Dreaming the Reality and I quite like that! It reminds me a lot of Nihilst and God Macabre.
My band is sort of back up and running, expect nasty death in the vein of Incantation, Demigod, God Macabre etc. Once we've got a regular rehearsal spot we should have a demo pretty shortly! |

Ah right, I like it! I understand how you must feel about it though, too many releases I've played on and haven't been satisfied (ever) with the sound. |

Ooops... ^^
Hey, I gave the Sarpanitum record a sort of "rave review" on voices, harhar.
Seriously, I don´t think the production is that bad that it stands in the way of the music - at least not for somebody who was not involved in the making of that record. I definitely agree about the quality of the song writing.

Believe me, if you'd heard them playing live with good sound, you'd realise actually how bad the CD is! Admitedly it was recorded very unprofessional locations to say the least, and there were plenty of problems in the recording process, but I think it was poor considering how it could have been done!
As for the new band, I'll probably post a link up here once we've got some recordings done. I've spent all night trying to write some new stuff, but I'm suffering a nasty case of writer's block at the moment! |

Sorry to repeat myself but as I said, I can't remember being very bothered by the Sarpanitum songs full stop. I'm not questioning how genuine they are etc, they just didn't do much for me...
Btw did you get my PM on myspace? Hope it least provided a chuckle! |
