Anyone a fan of this band? I have been spinning the Evil Friendship LP recently, and I think it is alright, as there are some brilliant songs on there (Troopers of Death and Lord of Vice), but the majority are average. |

Nice to see you investigating obscure British bands! I haven't heard them yet but I remember ages ago CC from Goat Molestor (their name at the time) recommended I get the album but so far I've never got round to it. Its meant to be quite horror metal-ish I think.
Yes I've just checked the archives and Evil Friendship is indeed the second Deliverance LP. |

If you come on the Solstice, I'll spin it. |

I have their 1st and 2nd LP. Did they appear in one Metalworks compilation album too (with Deathwish and other bands)?
Anyone familiar with the review from Blackthorn?
"Evil Friendship" review from 1989:
BLACK METAL LIVES! Arenīt you happy? Was it fun 5 years ago when it was provocative? Lets cut the bullshit. Deliverance apparently thought it was time for a black metal revival, though they prefer to describe themselves as horror metal band, whatever that might be?! What do you say to lyrics such as "Troopers of death, arisen from hell. Weapons of Satan, tolling your bell" or "I am Pan, I am Satan, Lord of vice, antichrist, antichrist, antichrist" or "Born in the depth of fire. Till the world is conquered. My evil never tires." Black metal lives in the ears of Deliverance but it`s health ain`t too good, in fact it sucks! |

Horror metal I've always thought of as kind of traditional metal with a doom aspect to it, or a Kiss/Alice Cooper inspired thetrical feeling behind it which is seen in bands such as Ripper, Paul Chain, Death SS (early), Zess, Impaler all fitting the description. |

Found an unplayed copy of Devil's Meat at the weekend. It's a pretty disturbing and interesting listen - looking forward to further spins of it. |
