I don't have a clue how this passed me by on my "holy fucking sweet fancy moses" radar until now but this is a record I simply cannot stop playing. What a monumental, epic fucking triumph!!

Clearly one of the most relevant bands of this decade. |

I think I should delete my post above and pretend I've been into them the entire time....
No seriously, the fact that these guys are a 3 piece is mindblowing. It's like all the best elements of Mournful Congregation, Atheist and Opeth mixed into a perfect blend. Unreal. Instant fucking convert right here.

For some reason it took me months to get into this album when it came out a couple years ago. I cannot explain what took so long, but when it clicked , it clicked big time. LP version sounds really great as well. _________________

The bass (not necessarily the bass guitar exclusively, but the low end of the album on the whole ) seems quite a bit tighter on the LP. It might just be the difference between my car's stereo and my LP set up at home, but the cd version would require me to turn the bass down to -4 before it became clear and stopped muddying up the sound of the whole album. Haven't really had to fuck with the EQ on the turntable set up at all since getting the LP. Everything breathes a bit better. _________________

Just got the LP myself and I concur with the holy ghost above. No idea about Opeth, but there's definitely some free form Atheist elements in here, although it is reductive to compare Stargazer to any other band. This is some excellent progressive extreme metal at work here. It sounds organic and cohesive, well blended, really great music. _________________ Into the Menstrual Night We Go-o, Hey-Ho, Hey-Ho...

Probably the best newer progressive death metal band at the moment IMO. _________________ Chthe'ilist // Zealotry // Atramentus // First Fragment // Serocs |

Itīs about time they get the recognition they deserve.
All bands related to the musicians in Stargazer are so good it is getting silly, ha! _________________ A nobody in a world of somebodies.

If I read that description before hearing the band I would never check them out.
Anyway Stargazer is amazing even if comparisons to other bands are difficult or arguable. And this is 100% their best work. |

Haha, I agree with this GoldenBull character above me. I hate Atheist and Opeth, but Stargazer just does it right. I haven't heard a song by them that I do not enjoy. _________________

Vinyl looks exceptional. Really impressive.
This record is something I am playing constantly, and one of those bands I tell my friends about and just get blank stares in return. |

Top it in every way, in my opinion. |
I'd have to disagree here, I believe A scream that tore the sky is their benchmark. A great work is good but nothing compared to Scream. |
Agreed wholeheartedly.
