The whole first portion of this game is fucking great. Wandering around Innsmouth is suitably creepy as hell. It kind of gets a bit shit later on but worth buying for the first few hours at least. |

A really good Lovecraftian game for PC is "Amnesia: The Dark Descent". _________________ Good traders: Professor Black, Golden Bull, Albin, TheUnborn, knochen, Valgrinder, Sv., dangerass, dalecooper, s.charlach, into the pit

| Eternal Darkness for the Gamecube is the best Lovecraft-ish/Poe-ish game I've ever seen. It's like a playable novel. |

So I have read most of Teatro Grotesco and I just want to say thanks for the tip. Absolutely amazing and maybe the best horror I have read since I first discovered Lovecraft. Brilliant stuff.
And I got this done yesterday:

| Glad to hear it. Now search out his other collections. You will not be disappointed. You can still find "Grimscribe" at a reasonable price (it's going to be reprinted soon, too). |

Great thread!!!
The Providence's solitary is my favorite writer. The Call Of Cthulu, The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, K'nyan, Herbert West Re-Animator ... are one of my favorites ever. I think that today the group that is closest to his world is The Grotesquery of legends Kam Lee.
All hail Shub Niggurath!!! |

In Hollywood news: the latest word is that the "Mountains of Madness" movie is delayed and maybe not happening at all, and Guillermo del Toro will instead begin shooting something called "Pacific Rim" this September. But perhaps you can thank your lucky stars on that one, because casting rumors just before this news surfaced had Tom fucking Cruise in "Mountains." If the delay or cancellation prevents that from happening, I'm all for it. _________________

Honestly reckon it needs to be more of an indie movie. I would have still watched it even if Tom Cruise was on it because I do like Guillermo Del Toro. However no one will likely have thought of this but anyone else think it would be awesome if Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Delicatessen, City of the Lost Children) had a crack at this. I know he did Alien: Resurrection (which I liked anyway) but still I think it would be cool. |
