this probably look more professionally done than his whole portfolio Laughing
going down the page you can see how he started and how amateurish/childish normal and colored tattoos looked like so he chose woodcut style redoing the same tattoo again and again. i can link to 3 different tattoo artists from my small eastern european city which exceed this guy work by a mile and the cost is probably a bargain in comparison. except they are not devoted to Satan, the selling point of Haervaerk tattoo.

I guess you just don't like his style, and fair enough - each to their own. I like his style, and think he execute it just perfect. Of course you can find other tattoo artists with other styles who is better, but that's besides the point.

don't get me wrong, your tattoo is nice, i would have added a little more content to the cross as a personal choice if it were mine, i speak about his portfolio taken as a whole, doing woodcut only, goats and devils only at least not pushing any boundary of creativity, is pretty limited and he has issues with the shadows where he tried to add them.if you look in this very thread a couple of pages behind you can see woodcut style but with a twist, getting specialized in this style left room for other styles and given the shown portfolio he don't know to join them so a lot is left to be desired before worshiping this guy or traveling to get inked by him. look in own areas before that, there are better artists with better vision, talent and experience. @W.Helm

It was a deliberate choice not to add any texture to the cross it self, the original drawing had wooden texture, but I wanted it to stand out plain like this.

He has a style, that is "satanic" woodcut, and he sticks to what works. Here in Copenhagen there's a ton of tattoo artists who do "a bit of it all", and most of them struggle to get enough clients. No need to be all "creative" and do all kinds of stuff, if you found a style that works for you and your clients. People do travel to get art done by him, bands, festivals etc use his artwork - and all are happy. There might be artists that are better for sure, there almost always is - but I don't think it makes his bad... But again, each to their own, It's not as if it bothering me alot, that you don't like his work, or think he sucks - I just don't agree with your critique Smile .

Haervaerks style fits with an idea I have but I'd need to sleep on it for some time like with any idea.

I'm not a tattoo "collector" and start from my own vision, not from what artists I like. There are enough Dutch artists to accomodate most of my wishes.

There are 3 excellent artists in the same shop literally a 5 min walk from my house at 13 tattooing. One of them is sleeving up my arm.

And there are a lot of other great tattooists in my city and other cities near me.

Got this Chime Maiden from Bloodborne the other day. Spent close to 9 hrs under the gun and 12 in the shop. Nearly lost my mind towards the end but he killed it and I'm totally stoked on how it came out! For some reason the top and bottom are cropped out of the photo but here's a link to the artist's IG:

Currently on tour and after he finishes up in the states he's headed over to Europe! Nothing but a professional and a complete madman behind the needle. I wouldn't hesitate to make an appointment if he's coming anywhere near you in the future!

Got this guy done recently. I had wanted something SadEx related for a while and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
