Surprised this has reached 10 pages here. There's nothing about the music on this record that you couldn't say about the last Funebrarum. Still a good album and cool to hear Pillard fronting a death metal band again.

Agreed. The hype surrounding this band is nuts. I bought the 7" because of all the attention it has been receiving and was pretty unimpressed. It's good, but I rather just listen to Funebrarum.

This type of death metal didn't just come back. Disma didn't start a revolution or break any ground. They are just another good death metal band.

Still waiting for a US band to make a old school euro dm styled album as good as the first Funebrarum LP... I don't think it will ever happen.

I know some think Sleep was not as good as Beneath, but I like it a lot. It's not quite as good, but it's still a really good album and better than most other modern death metal albums. American or otherwise. The band just fucking rules.

This blows Funebrarum away.

I don't hear it. Maybe the fact that it's Craig Pillard providing vocals, has some thinking it's better than it actually is. Musically, it just sounds like a less interesting Funebrarum. I mean, half of the band is Funebrarum.

It's good, but THAT much better than others having been doing it ? nah

The cover art is THAT epic, the album is just worthy of having, certainly not some godlike unique entity.

...but hasn't this music biz always been a little strange in behaviour ? Laughing

this is way heavier than funebrarum, and arguably better. The vocals are better, the drums make funebrarums first lp sound sloppy comparatively, and the guitars are great. No solos on the lp which I think is better too. This is one of the best and heaviest of the last few years that I've heard, funebrarum included.

Not a positive aspect for an underground band to shoot for (precision drumming).

I like my metal organic sounding, if this sounds more refined or mechanical I will definitely like it less than Funebrarum.

I wasn't implying the style was a modern phenomenon or that Disma are revolutionary. Just amused at the fact that it took so long for people to stop playing shitty, dullsville Death Metal and get back to heaviness, simplicity and groove. The genre was worthless for years and a total fucking joke.

There is a copy of "Beneath" at the local punk record shop here in Seattle. I could be persuaded to go grab it, it'll give me an excuse to go dig down there anyway. I still need "Sleep of" on LP.

The Manifestation 7" is utterly fantastic, couldn't give a shit less whether they're doing anything "new" or not, I just know that it makes me headbang. End of.

I'd quite like one of those shirts that Necroharmonic have available, but I've not heard the most positive things about their mailorder. Always got their stuff through other distros.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I don't want to look through 11 pages...

Is there a release date for the vinyl version on Doomentia??

The artwork should be ready soon. Once everything will be sent to the pressing plant, I'll reveal the detail of that release and will offer it to pre-order on my webshop.
