Total ass kicker. Killer songs, musicianship, and great storytelling in the lyrics, with the usual dark and violent moments. Holds up very well today partly due to the production/mix which is full and crankable.

I think it's the only album they made in the entire 90s. When comes the vinyl? When comes the ban on dad threads?

Hail BOC! I haven't heard this album but it's been on my list for awhile. My favorite of theirs has always been Fire of Unknown Origin.

They also did; Blue Öyster Cult ‎– Bad Channels - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack 1992. But not a real album.
Love early Blue Öyster Cult, something about them draws me to them, not even sure what it is but I keep coming back for more.

I prefer Fire of Unknown Origin, but I like most of their stuff. Underrated in my opinion.

This basically sums up BÖC perfectly for me.

Heaven Forbid is definitely an under-appreciated album. Strange that it's never been released on vinyl. I think Club Ninja, Imaginos, and Heaven Forbid are generally not given enough attention.

I suppose I should give this a spin. I only know Tyranny and Mutation, Secret Treaties, and Fire of Unknown Origin.

I don't know if I would put Heaven Forbid up against those, maybe so, but in any case it's an overlooked highlight. And it SOUNDS so good unlike a lot of albums make during the 90s...

And yeah Club Ninja (side A for damn sure) too.

All of the albums have their ups and downs, of course, but Heaven Forbid has a lot of favorites. "Harvest Moon" is probably the best known song from there since they have had it in their live set pretty much every night for 20+ years. It speaks well to their fanbase at the state fairs I'm sure.

The album has some moments for sure. The production sounds very 90's for sure. The artwork is indeed a bit corny, fun fact: the artist is named Marshall Arisman. Head of the Illustration department at my old college. He was my painting teacher. All his paintings are painted mostly with his fingers. Very little use of brushes.

Back to the music: i got this from a friend who used to write for metal maniacs when this came out. Between BOC and Riot, There was far and few american heavy metal releases in the 90's with shelf life.

Solid, mostly ignored record. Harvest Moon is the cut. I also like Live for Me, and a few others. Next time I see Danny I'll have to ask him what's the hold up with the wax.

Such an amazing band

Fucking never. I'd much rather see threads like these than yet another full of people bitching about their favorite black metal musician being picked on and bullied by antifa.
