I keep all of my vinyl in those expensive fully sealed/lockable DJ vinyl flight cases, maybe get some of them? I get close to 100 in each one, obviously the DLP's take up more room.

been looking at those, how are they for keeping things cool during the summer heat though? summers can get pretty hot down here.

I've been using them for a few years now and they have been brilliant. They keep nice and cool as well. They survived Queensland summers, which are far hotter than here in Victoria. Well worth getting mate ! You won't regret it !

Sweet! thanks for the info, they sounds great. Have to save up for a few

can't you find those plastic boxes ? They are air sealed once you close them, quite cheap and you can find the right size for vinyls I guess...
All in all, basements are not the safest place, except if there is 50 cm of concrete each side...

edit : just found out the type of boxes. Not that cheap though

anyway you can store your car upon them. Good news and a great storage tip...

I used to have my office and all my records/DVDs/WW2/book collections in a partially finished basement. I had to rock 2 dehumidifiers and empty the buckets daily. And you can't use the cheap dehumidifiers because they will ice up and stop working. My records were fine but they were well attended to. Once I had my Colt 45 pistol in deep storage for a few months in a basement back room and it was completely contaminated with rust. You could try those self sealing acid free bags, I bought a ton for my books, but the glue can get on your records when you remove them.

I keep mine in mobile plastic drawers, on top of cupboards but none on the floor.
