Roman Saenko is well-known for Drudkh, but his other musical entities - Hate Forest & Blood of Kingu - deserve no less praise and attention. In particular the last album of Blood of Kingu, "Sun in the House of the Scorpion", is one hell of an occult masterwork IMO.
Hate Forest:
Scythia - Demo 1999
Darkness - EP 2000
The Curse - Demo 2000
The Gates - EP 2001
Ritual - EP 2001
Blood & Fire - EP 2001
The Most Ancient Ones - Full-length 2001
Blood & Fire / Ritual - Compilation 2001
To Those Who Came Before Us - Compilation 2002
Purity - Full-length 2003
To Twilight Thickets - Compilation 2003
Battlefields - Full-length 2003
Resistance - EP 2004
Sorrow - Full-length 2005
Nietzscheism - Compilation 2005
Temple Forest - Demo 2007
Hate Forest / Legion of Doom - Split 2008
Dead But Dreaming - Compilation 2009

Hate Forest's Purity is still an incredible album. The rest is of very varying quality... but I like To Those Who Came Before Us & Battlefields. _________________ ok but who are you damn i have lot of orders

I don't like Blood Of Kingu at all and Hate Forest have bunch of awfully bad releases, but their Battlefields LP is one of my favorite albums ever!
What a flawless and brilliant masterpiece! |

Hate Forest has a unique atmosphere in my opinion. Roman's voice is very unique, I haven't heard anyone growl like he does!
Here is a youtube film of him with Hate Forest on the Kolovorot festival. I think it's their only performence.

Purity and Battlefields are really good ones. Blood of Kingu's first album was ok, I haven't checked the latest album. _________________

Purity, Battlefields and the Scythia demo are good. Their other releases sound mediocre and boringly darkthronish. _________________

Yep same here, Purity and Battlefields do it for me too. I totally agree with varying of quality on some releases. I own pretty much most of their discography on MC, I cant remember what release it is but there is an awful Ambient/Sample release they did which was just pointless.
Has anyone heard the Dead But Dreaming release yet? Quite intrested in finding out if its worth it for the unreleased studio tracks. |

Always enjoyed the Sorrow album. Also pretty angry black metal skinhead vocals on the Kolovrat fest live!! _________________ Hail murder |

The EP Blood & Ritual is amazing too.
I didn't like the newest Blood of Kingu even if the first one was great. It got too thrashy and less ambient. |

| Those Blood of Kingu albums are really good. I remember the first time I heard De Occulta Philosophia the vocals are what got me hooked. What is the best Hate Forest album to check out? |
