Quintessence is my favorite Abigor release but the production always bugged me, mainly the guitar sound. Hope this one turns out better. But this is an easy decision purchase for sure. _________________

I used to prefer early Abigor to the rest of their output, but over the years, I've begun to think that "Channeling the Quintessence of Satan" was their peak, both in terms of sound and song composition.
Hopefully they haven't gone too far off the deep end with the horseshit Noevdia "orthodox" black metal stuff. "Fractal Possession" was a great comeback, but a little too sterile. "Time..." was boring as hell. The more they get into "Him," the more boring and derivative they are. |

It's very different to the original. When you try to improve on perfection the best thing you can do is not to ruin it. They didn't ruin it, but they showed it in a different light altogether. While I think I shall continue listening to the original recording instead, this one is definitely a must for every person into perverse minds of this Austrian warmachine. Definitely much better, than what burzum and gorgoroth did, rest assured. Amazing first scream on "Equilibrium Pass By", I could listen to it over and over.
Oh yeah, and the demos are brilliant, very very enjoyable listen.
Personally I think that, if anything, they should re-record their first 3 CDs, i.e. Verwustung, Orkblut and Nachthymnen, with their current attitude - it could be so much darker! _________________ :DWP TERROR SQUAD:

Or just focus on the future and new material. _________________ http://www.UnbornProductions.com

Definitely, not many bands sounds like Abigor, we've got to give them that.
The debutalbum is still my favourite, but their whole discography has something to offer. _________________ http://www.UnbornProductions.com

Exactly. Although my favourites would be "Opus IV" and "Channeling".
Among those "not many" are early Lunar Aurora and Amestigon, both great bands. Although I am not a fan of newer Lunar Aurora stuff to be honest, they kinda lost it somewhere along the way.
I don't know about others, but DWP shall stock it in the US, probably soon.
O.L.D., I think youtube has at least two tracks uploaded, check there.
DTBRex, so the vinyl is confirmed? _________________ :DWP TERROR SQUAD:
