Was watching The Doors yesterday with val kilmer and I was thinking to myself... They just dont make intriguing films like this anymore. What's your favorite?

Come on, that movie sucked even more than the band. A real low-point of Oliver Stone.

It's not Stone's best by any means but he has done far worse crap than that.

Control (about Joy Division) is quite fine in my eyes.

(May not be much of a biopic but more than makes up for it in entertainment value.)

That's true.

About "Control": Too much Ian Curtis, not enough Joy Division.

The Johnny Cash "Walk The Line" biopic was good, though I'm not incredibly familiar with Cash's life so I don't know how authentic it is. It's just a good film on it's own merit.

Sid and Nancy is my favorite biopic film. May be inacurate at times, but Gary Oldman's performance is flawless.

What we do is secret, the biopic of The Germs, was pretty good, but a tad bit too dramatic at points. Walk the line was just ok.

Gus Van Sant's Last Days is pretty cool, especially when you're wasted and in the right mindset. It's essentially an account of the last few days in the life of Kurt Cobain, but they don't use real characters so there's no mention of Kurt or Nirvana. Sonic Youth nerds (like me) take note: Kim Gordon has a small part as a record company exec, and Thurston Moore does some of the score music.

"The upsetter - the life and music of Lee "Scratch" Perry" is pretty awesome.

"Control", as mentioned above.

"24 hour party people"

"The Pianist"

probably more I cant think of right now.
