Quite surprised not to see THOU mentioned, a blackened sludge band from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Each of their releases also have nice layouts .
Eibon from France are good too, playing more in a progressive doom / sludge way.
Their last opus, "Entering darkness", derserves a lot of attention. |

| Vancouver here has produced two excellent bands with a strong EHG vibe, firstly Goatsblood! The S/T, Drull and tracks from the four-way split ate all amazing! Since their demise Haggatha has been fucking crushing it. Same drummer from Goatsblood not quite as filthy as Goatsblood and I get a heavy sense of Grief's 'And Man Will Become the Hunted' looking forward to checking their LP that just came out will they were touring Europe and seeing them in a couple weeks with Loss and Mitochondrion. Matt is one of the most entertaining drummers I've had the pleasure to watch live. Saturday also saw two Haggatha members a member of Goatsblood and a guitarist from 3 Inches of Blood play an awesome Halloween cover set as "Ain't Vitus". |
