With metal vinyl on egay there`s a lot of shady bidding going on. Being old and slow, can anybody please explaine how this thing works without the fuckers being booted, Example:
y***r( 143)
Only bid history, not possible to see the "perfect" feedback. I buy old psychedelia and rock also, this happens very seldom in auctions of this kinda music. Are metal fans fucking retarded? _________________

once an auction reaches a certain amount the bidder's name is hidden. this is something ebay does not the bidder. not sure if you could set it to always have your name hidden.
I don't get why you would have a problem with this. |

and y***r doesn't mean that the guy's nickname on ebay begins with y and ends with r. That is a random function of alias-hiding from ebay. |

Ok. Good to know. I just do not see why this don`t happen when I bid on a valuable old Stones record or something. There I normally always see the complete history of the person I do the bidding against. Not just the bidding history, but what he/she has bought also.
I mean these ID`s pop up from value 9 bucks or something on the good metal stuff. Probably a reason I guess. _________________

They do it because they want to protect buyers from fraudulent sellers. For example, say you bid on an LP and your maximum bid was $250. Someone outbids you, and then you get an email from another person that had been watching the auction that says they will sell you their copy of said LP for your top bid. Ebay can't protect you if that guy rips you off, since the deal was done outside of an auction. Of course, Ebay also has an ulterior motive by doing this, because they wouldn't collect any money from a deal being done outside their network. |
