| I love this band, but I pity the poor fuck who has to buy everything they've ever put out. My collection is puny, but I have all the essentials. |

Fan? Being a fan doesn't suck, it's okay to be a fan of a band. Being a collector is what sucks. How many fans of these 2 bands are out there? I like some Nunslaughter and have a few of their releases myself but I wouldn't say that I'm a fan. And because I am not a fan of the band I don't collect their releases.
I'm a huge fan of Iron Maiden, Sodom and Motorhead. I don't pay high prices for their "collectibles" but I will buy multiple/different pressings of their releases. When it comes to Maiden I mostly buy stuff from the '80s and early '90s. Just an example that I gave. I don't push myself to have "the biggest" collection in the world. And I know it is a bad example because when it comes to Maiden and Motorhead most Metalheads, young and old, are able to say "Hey this is Maiden" or "This is Motorhead" when they hear a random song by one of these bands. When it comes to Maiden you can play any random song from their 1980's discography and I will tell you the title of the song, what album it is on, what year it was released and most likely I will know 70% of the lyrics. But how many of the so called Sabbat or Nunslaughter "fans" would be able to say the same thing if a random song of one of the bands was played at a party or a bar? Don't get me wrong, there ARE fans of these bands that actually like the music and know almost every song by heart. But the majority of the people simply are nothing more than collectors.
I myself am no longer a dedicated "fan" of any of the newer bands no matter how much I like them so I am guilty as well. For example, I got Acid Witch "Stoned" album and it gets played quite a bit. I actually like it so much I got the CD, black wax, colored wax, picture disk, test pressing and a shirt!!! If you play a random song from the album I will be able to tell that it is Acid Witch. But I don't even know one song title from the album. I never even read the song titles or the lyrics. Didn't have the time to look at the booklet / layout so I don't know if there are lyrics printed. So I am guilty of having a collection without having any knowledge about the band or band members. _________________

| own a few random stuff they released, but it's completely ridiculous to try and collect their stuff.. but whatever... they're a much better band live than on record anyway. |

My NS Collection is pretty close to that, minus most HMSS stuff, test pressings and different CD pressings...
It actually looks more than it is since many releases are listed twice, one time with their title and then again as "split with XXX".... _________________ http://shop.deathstrike.de

Some of their stuff is pretty cool. I could never go so in-depth with collecting one band, so cheerz to maniacs who do it. Cool to see it. _________________ TRADELIST:

I have mailed this guy once!
I try to buy everything from Nunslaughter.Unfortunately I am a maniac with this band....I missed 3-4 eps and split with midnight.
I don't regret because it's the best old school death metal band ever! |

Yeah thats what i ment by "diehard fan". I ment someone who always buys all the releases. I should have said collector.
Myself, i'm a sabbat collector but first and foremost i'm a fan. i play their releases all the time too. Doesnt matter how much i pay for a record, i still play all of em.
but of course if its a shit quality bootleg i might not play it more than a few times. _________________

Biggest problems with bootlegs is that the visual presentation is most of the time much better than official releases but the sound quality is shit. I buy very few bootlegs. I'm a sucker when it comes to Mercyful Fate and King Diamond bootlegs. Especially when it has some classic live picture(s) used as a cover I just got to have it. Play it once and store it away.
I think Metallica is the most bootlegged band with well over 500 different LPs pressed if I remember correctly and this was probably close to a decade ago. And they complain about napster and other file sharing programs.
And was it Bruce Spingsteen who sued a couple of uys from England for bootlegging his stuff and won $3,000,000 or something like that back in the 1990's? _________________
