Yeah, what's the deal with kids over there? Did COF ruin them or something? Figures they even have that awful message board. You'd think the place that spawned fucking SABBATH, MOTORHEAD, VENOM, DISCHARGE, NAPALM DEATH and WHITEHOUSE would come up with something better. |

Not to forget Judas Priest and Iron Maiden!
But yeah. Very weird that there really isn't any exiciting black metal from the UK. |

Its not just black metal but metal in general round here. It perplexes me also and I don't fully understand. I mean, there's no-one here who really goes for the underground, sure there is someone who listens to Order From Chaos, Beherit, Black Sabbath, Slaughter but at the same time he also listens to br00tal death metal, Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Static-X, System of a Down, Slipknot, Pantera and bands of that nature and doesn't bother with demo tapes or fanzines. However for the most part the people are into metalcore or whatever's trendy in the 'alternative' scene, for example thrash is the 'in' thing, with a few slam/brutal death bands who don't have any knowledge of Papsmear, Necrovore, Mantas, Slaughter, Repulsion, Death Strike, Nihilist, Discharge, Hellhammer etc.
Regarding thrash its like Slutvomit said in a recent interview, a few years ago these kids didn't know what Dark Angel or Exodus were, now... I dunno, there's something seriously wrong with this country, we had an explosion of quality in the 70s and early 80s with the Hard Rock, Punk, NWOBHM then suddenly it stopped, save a few decent bands. |
