Right, you said EBM and Electro, not IDM.
It's still fucking stupid.
I insist though, I'd like to know how "EBM and Electro" are related to Industrial culture. Plenty of Noise and PE is (culture), but I'm curious how "EBM and Electro" are, because musciwise they aren't and culturewise even less.

Read the book Generation Ecstacy by Simon Reynolds. That will give you a complete overview of the history of electronic music. _________________ http://www.dissectionforum.dk/ |

Right, a book written by some outsider. Same shit as Lords of Chaos.
It's like saying read a book about hard rock from some rapper if you want to know about underground black metal.
I rest my case. |

It's the best book ever written on the topic. I've been hardcore into electronic music since 1991, and the genre is a total jungle. No other book offers a more in-depht overview of the genre. You'll find stuff that has hardly ever been written about before. Mr. Reynolds really knows his shit. _________________ http://www.dissectionforum.dk/ |

ps. I'd really like to read how Vivenza or throbbing Gristle are related to shit like IDM and EBM. |
they are related through mid 80's Belgian and Canadian bands primarily. I agree that thesedays eBM etc has little to no relationship to industrial culture in a traditional sense, but it was not always so. Bands like Front 242 or Skinny Puppy had a foot in both camps - SP in particular had the "dancy" singles, then the rest of the album would be made up of twisted noise. _________________ "14 words: we must secure the depravation of the children and ruin the whole fucking world..." |

I can vouch for this. Simon Reynolds is a total music fanatic, and I think you can assume the best of intentions with what he writes. His book on post-punk was excellent, other than the fact he totally skipped over some bands. |

I think whoever buys this re-issue is mainly supporting Peaceville in their addiction: £.
Just got the mail for pre-order, 18 pounds for the vinyl without shipping. |
So what's the issue? You don't get obvious double-standarts of mine. In 99% of cases I never buy from major labels (as well as from opportunistic "underground" ones) even the music I do really like. MystiCUM is just the rest 1%. _________________ Kiss My Coffin!

I thought it's 15. And the shipping price is ok (at least here in the UK), comparable with other, more UG labels doing it not for the money. _________________ A good hippie is a dead hippie |

And industrial music is their main source of inspiration, rather than traditional metal. But of course, here we have alpha and omega of industrial music who listened to that genre in the early 70s, even earlier most likely, and knows better. Sorry, Mysticum is just an "atmospheric black metal" with a drum-machine SOUNDING LIKE programmed drums we heard 1,000 times before and after, our mistake. |
Thanks for proving my point, faggot. Ignorance is "strength" I guess. |
The only thing proven here is that you're one frustrated idiot. I know that life is hard and girls can be wicked, but this behaviour won't take you anywhere safe. I doubt you'd say that to me or anyone else outside the net, on a gig for instance. _________________ A good hippie is a dead hippie |
