Aaaaand a good thread goes down the shitter.

Look, you are coming off as a 16-year-old retard. Or, as someone else said, an ignorant yokel. Which you very well may be, considering some of the questions you're posting. I won't judge, so long as you don't vomit cheap lager in the same U-bahn car that I'm riding in.

Because some of these questions need to be answered so this thread can get back on track, here ya go:

1) You can change money at any major US bank. Sometimes you have to order ahead of time (talk to a rep at your bank branch), but at larger banks they will probably have some Euros on hand.

2) You can sometimes get BETTER exchange rates in-country, so look at what your bank will charge you, and look at what places in Germany charge, and you can make a decision that way. When I've traveled to Europe, I usually take traveler's checks and change some at the airport upon arrival (pay for transpo and some fortifying food/drink). Then I scope out banks in the area around my hotel in case I have to change more money.

3) If you don't have a current passport, get one now. That way, it won't be late-October when you realize that you don't have valid travel documents and by then it's too late.

4) Oh yeah, and if you bank at HSBC (my spouse does, specifically because we travel internationally quite a bit), there are likely at least a couple of branches in Berlin. You can basically use their ATMs without any fees.

ETA:

5) It's been 10 long years since I lived in Berlin, but back then the cops were not very kind to vagrants. Sleeping on the street is not recommended. Depending on your politics, there is probably a squat/community of like-minded people somewhere in Friedrichshain that will take you in for a couple of days in exchange for beer and maybe help cleaning the dishes. That said, hostels are generally pretty cheap. Whatever you do, find somewhere with a working shower, because there's nothing worse than being at a show standing next to the stinky motherfucker who doesn't bathe. Don't be that guy.

As far as I know they don't accept Dollars in West-Berlin since 1990. In "red" East-Berlin they did never. But Americans will be acclaimed with a good 'ol Stars and Stripes flag, ice cold beer from Czech Republik (brewed after an ancient bohemian recipe) and blond, blue-eyed sluts in Lederhosen right away at the airport.

But seriously: Do they accept Euros in Austin, TX?

"yokel" haha that sounds like something someones great grandpa would say. anyways I've never traveled outside the country so I've really never had a reason to read up on it. It's not that big of a deal... I coulda just looked that up online it was a minor question really just to know if I had to study more up on that . My real questions are if any of the first day bands are going to be scheduling to play seperate shows/pre-shows/after-shows since the day 1 tickets are sold out, other than perversor cause I know they're playing sunday. And if there's any word on some big after parties yet.

It sounds like you seriously need to do quite a bit of research about travelling, the fact that you're ignorant about really basic things means it's quite possible they won't let you into the country. Hell, you might not even make it onto the plane from the US. So yes, it is that big of a deal

Congratu...dolences? (the former for a new member of the tribe, the latter for missing the fest)

In any case, good luck with the upcoming few months. Smile

I did my best to stay polite despite your incredible ignorance about the rest of the world, but now I suggest you better stay at home.

Funny thing is that if he was an Ancient Egyptofukk, you'd probably still talk shit to him. Australia rules.

Ok back to topic.

I think Perversor will play other gigs in Europe. At least that was the original plan since they were already planning a tour when they got added to the fest.

Knelt Rote will also tour.
