Which are the weakest/strongest? These are the only Graveland full lengths I dont have. Thinking about filling in the gaps since I have a little bit of extra paypal cash.

weakest would be DAWN.

concerning the strongest, its a tie between WILL and CREED.. if it'll help you decide- the "instruments" sound more like actual instruments on Will stronger than Death, while Creed of Iron sound a tad more bombastic(though "fake") ... that isn't to say Will Stronger than Death doesn't sound bombastic and epic - far from it!

also, I dont really understand the praise that FtVoB gets? its a good album but IMO far far behind the rest. Thurisaz is a fantastic track but the rest of the album is IMO far from as memorable or atmospheric as the rest from the era

Thousand Swords is probably the most "important", but the Celtic Winter is the album I enjoy the most. New albums are great too.

Much of Graveland-material is top class (older or newer)..But I raise my treecup of homemade brew to the fantastic battlesong "The Four Wings of the Sun" on The Fire of Awakening. Simply the strongest hymn created by Darken, in my opinion. Makes me want to ride to the battlefields. Also fantastic coverart on the album.

Killer track!! The last Graveland record I listened to was Creed of Iron, and it looks like I've been missing on a ton of great music. I shall remedy that asap.

By the way, I've never listened to the Eternal Devils version of Carpathian Wolves. Anybody willing to rip/upload that particular version? Cool

Fav Graveland:

1. Thousand Swords
2. Immortal Pride
3. Following the Voice of Blood
4. The Celtic Winter
5. Carpathian Wolves
6. In the Glare of Burning Churches
7. Creed of Iron
8. Early demos

Same here. Previous and Following album are by far better than this one.

Will Stronger Than Death is the best as far as I'm concerned. But all 4 are good albums

Yep. I agree with that.

to be really honest: post 2000 era.

Incredible, moving stuff.

The "Cold Winter Blades" EP in particular is some of his best work to date IMO.

It's most certainly the bass! Last week I went and bought the original Eternal Devils CD I was really amazed by the original mix. Sounded like a different album with the bass mixed that high, so much more powerful.

At the pagan samhain night....!

I somehow didn´t notice this until now. Was just wondering: When you guys talk about the NC version, do you mean the remastered versions from 2001 (?) onwards, or does that include the first vinyl version from 1998 (with the original logo etc)?

So are there 3 different sounding versions (ED CD, NC 1998 LP, remastered NC presses) or does the 1998 LP have the original sound? I own the 1998 LP but never heard the ED CD.

Great album in any case.

Before that Eternal Devils cd I just had the later No Colours reissue with rehearsal tracks as bonus.

^^ agree 100% with the above sentiments about Carpathian Wolves, the first press is the first one i heard, and then i got the NC remixed version later and really wasn't into it like the first mix.

Lets hope the original is rereleased some day, because i think itd blow people who like the NC version minds (it really is THAT much better and something worth tracking down if you have never heard it).

Could someone who owns the ED version maybe upload it somewhere? Would like to compare it with my LP and I´m not certain about the source used on the blogs I found.
