I think it's a pretty great demo tape, personally, but then you sort of have to take it for what it is- a first demo by a teenager in 1992.

No one seems to like Impaler's Wolves, can't judge as I don't own this record.

I like it, but the reason it will never be a favorite is because of the production. I have a hard time describing it and whats wrong with it- it just doesnt feel right- the same goes for the Fire of Awakening and Dawn of the Iron Blades- im never gonna dig those albums really

My vote goes to Carpathian Wolves. The atmosphere combined with the keys are some of the best BM ever.

agreed; love the guitars + drums demos on the CD version too.

Was torn between Thousand Swords & Following the Voice of Blood, went with Following... due to:

a. The overall epicness of the entire release
b. The track Thurisaz

Following has great songs but the production always bothered me for some reason. Such a weird sounding record.

Yes, it's not a bad demo, to be precise, it has just not much to do with what came after, besides the epic keys of course.

Dunno, maybe it was a rest of his former projects, I heard he had some Doom/Death Metal band à la early Paradise Lost before?

Fire of Awakening is kicking my ass today too. Not surprised the post 2000 era is nobody's favorite, but surprised it is not more appreciated.

This thread got me into a Graveland mood. Up next: Thousand Swords, followed by Creed of Iron.

Fire Chariot of Destruction is a seriously amazing album. I was shocked at how powerful its sound is.
