The year 2011 is dead and buried, so let's move forward to the second issue, released in 2006. Here's the first pick of three interviews: Bone Awl. |

From now on this blog isn't just about rotten writings but some fresh fruits too! In the end of every month there will be a list of "The Chosen Three": demos/bands/EP's/albums that were in heavy rotation during that time. I hope you find these posts useful.
And here comes this January's list: http://kaleidoscopemag.wordpress.com/2012/01/25/the-chosen-three-january-2012/ |

I think that's a great idea. Keep it up! I will be purchasing that Pyhä Kuolema CD soon. _________________

Couldn't agree more with the first words there, as I haven't listened to the band for many years, but I have very good memories of e.g Gråtoner and, most importantly, Köld, which I consider to be, well, the epitome of depressive black metal. Utter brilliance. No idea how often I've played that album over and over again in the midst of autumn / winter forests. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oo3hxEC46k&feature=related 0.00 -> always shivering!
As for basically any other "depressive black metal" bands: meh... |
