BESTIAL RAIDS/HELLISH—“Heretical Rites” Split 7”

Having already established their position as one of the most important bands currently playing in the Bestial Black Death style, Poland’s Bestial Raids return with two new hymns of impurity. Their first release since they unleashed the excellent “Reversed Black Trinity” album, their side of this split 7” finds the Bestial Raids horde playing some of their most dynamic and deadly tracks. The recording is primitive and raw yet not lacking for depth or clarity. United with Bestial Raids on this release and also hailing from the bleak recesses of Poland, is Hellish. On this, their first vinyl release, these crusaders of evil spew forth a furious bestial thrashing attack. Ripping and aggressive, Hellish perfectly merge intense violence with memorable and distinctive thrash riffs to conjure the most nightmarish of images. This split EP captures both of these bands in their most sadistic form. 200 copies pressed on blue vinyl may only be obtained directly from Bird of Ill Omen Recordings or the bands themselves. Black vinyl is also available.

Hellish was a nice surprise. They play a mix of bestial death metal and old school thrash. Not unlike Nocturnal Graves in style, but sound totally different. I'm sure Ivar would like it.

I am curious what you thought of hellish. i had never heard of them before agreeing to release this split which was entirely organized with Sadist from b. raids. I was apprehensive about releasing hellish but once i heard the music all doubt was cast aside. their songs on this are killer. . .
