haha i was actually reading the dave grohl biography and i found that out. checked out the album, was reminded how godly they were and made this thread. the dave grohl book is weird, its about 20% dave grohl and the other 80% is about DC hardcore, punk rock and nirvana. its pretty excellent actually. _________________ format your doormat |

Love KJ, but mostly the mid-period stuff from "Night time" to "Extremities". It's because of them that I love MORGOTH's "Odium" so much - you can clearly hear the KJ influence on that album. _________________ -Patrick (CRYPTICUS)

Listening to Extremities ATM: You are an inspiration to me. You are an inspiration of how not to be. You are my inspiration of how to achieve a better way of life. _________________ "14 words: we must secure the depravation of the children and ruin the whole fucking world..." |

Even more so on "Feel Sorry For The Fanatic". Morgoth went total Killing Joke worship on that one. |

LOVE this band. Of course, their first 6 albums are excellent, only fairly recently have I gotten into their more recent output. My favorites being Extremities, and their last 2.
Only ones I really don't like are Pandemonium, and Outside the Gate. _________________ recommended buyers/traders: Hørus, Werewolf, Xenitea, Jalmym203, frostjunkie, digmaan666, OldLadyDriver, ins88, maran666atha, Doom-Mantia, bubonic |

Thanks for this thread. I decided to take the plunge and seriously check out their whole discography instead of just skimming; here we are a few weeks later and I now own most of their albums except a couple, and have listened to hardly anything else this whole time. What a great band. In retrospect, though I really like "Extremities" it was the wrong entry point - when I first heard it many years ago I thought it was a weaker/more idiosyncratic take on Ministry and such, but the band actually was a lot more diverse and doing more interesting shit on most of their other albums. _________________

Don't know what happened, but I threw on the S/T and it finally clicked, in a big way. And last year around the same time I'm talking about how they never did anything for me in this very same thread. Life's funny like that.
Oh well, off to find more.... _________________ http://www.last.fm/user/ngadke |
