Really looking forward to ordering this, sent him an e-mail about a week or two ago about it. Pacto seems to have great prices for CDs to the US ($14ppd), but he's a bit slow answering e-mails. Never ordered from him before, I'm going to guess he's pretty reliable.

THIS BAND IS AWSOME, ULTRA OBSCURE DEATH METAL!

ABOUT PACTO, THEY HAVE RELEASED VERY INTERESTING AND TRUE MATERIAL AS "BUTAMACHO" (DEATH METAL) NECRANASTASIS (BLACK METAL) AND THE LAST CD OF PERVERSOR. (SHADOW OF ABOMINATION)

Recent communications have been faster. Got this ordered now. Really looking forward to hearing it.

For those of you who have yet to hear it.

Showed up today. Crushes.

DO NOT IGNORE THIS BAND! Nasty, suffocating, crushing occult death metal that far exceeds the caliber of many of the "hyped" bands playing this style.

BUMP

I saw someone mention this band in the "We Will all Laugh .." thread, was gonna post/agree, but found this thread to post in instead (hopefully more people will see it).

This album KILLS. Strong NYDM-esque atmosphere, diverse songs, occult/Sumerian influences, etc. You'll be reminded at times of old Incantation/Immolation/Morpheus Descends, but Nar-Mattaru is miles from being a clone band.

This is absolutely the best album of this style in many years. 100% worth a blind buy. You can get it by emailing Hector at Pacto Records (this version has Enuma Elish / In the Black Spheres of Time on one cd, for $14 ppd to US).

It's easily the best thing I've bought in ages; I've been listening to the immortal fuck out of it for a coupla months, and it just gets better the more I hear it! It blows the Dismas, Cruciamentums, Grave Miasmas etc out there completely out of the water. IMO, it's the best new album since Graves of the Archangels.

There is some worth here in listening that's for sure, but to go so far as to claim they are superior to all those other bands you listed... Confused

Laughing

Not superior, but perhaps equal to... and a band of interest to people into those other bands to look into. Razz

Kvlt worthy dirty gravish crypt like death metal... at total odds with computer art cover. There said it.

This is not symphonic metal like the art would perhaps suggest. Laughing

I like this stuff better than any of the recent bands attempting this style. Disma, Cruciamentum, Grave Miasma, Vasaeleth, etc. All great bands, but they don't have the memorability that this band does. These songs stick with you, which is something that I feel is sorely missing from most bands playing this style.

The tracks I've heard so far are killer! Reminds me of Mortal Throne... era Incantation which in my books is no small compliment!

Carlzilla hit the nail on the head - this band stands up to repeated listens (imo, gets much better). I like Disma, Cruciamentum, Grave Miasma and other bands of that ilk just fine, but after many many listens, I get tired/bored with them, and don't listen to them all that often anymore (although I didn't care much for Vasaeleth).

I have had days where the Nar-Mattaru cd plays for 10+ hours on repeat while I'm working, and I just don't get tired of it. In two months, I've listened to it far more times than many albums that I've had for years. It's an utterly amazing album.

After listening to a couple of songs on youtube, I agree that this is definitely killer. Far too early for me to say that it's better than Disma, Grave Miasma or Cruciamentum, but it is excellent for sure. Adding to my 'must buy' list!

Great to see this is getting released with the demo.
Same league as other acts mentioned here definitely, which one is better or worse is pure personal taste and opinion anyway.
Chile is a hotbed for great Death Metal - Melektaus (what is going on there, anybody knows?), Trimegisto and Denying Nazarene crush as well.

Yeah, it's definitely a personal taste thing.

I'm glad that this is finally getting some attention on here. I tried to drum up some attention shortly after the original post, but it was met with seeming indifference.

Pacto is totally reliable, and the shipping from Chile to the US is cheap as dirt (don't know what he'd charge to European countries, sorry), so I encourage people to pick this up. Even if you personally don't think it's better than some of the more hyped bands playing this style, I don't think it'll leave you disappointed.
