anyone know anything i dont? i live in boston, when i was a kid, this place was crawling with awesome record stores, now...not so much. theres a couple ok ones in the city, not really though, and a couple i know of in rhode island. my girlfriend and i are planning a weekend vacation in june, and if i can sneak some vinyl hunting in there, that would be killer... _________________

| There definitely isn't much. I live in Massachusetts but closer to Providence. Armageddon is good sometimes but I definitely wish there were at least a FEW more shops around this area. I have searched online a lot in the past trying to find shops in the Rhode Island,Boston area but never found much. If you have any luck let me know! |

If you're willing to come out to CT, there's two great shops in the state:
Redscroll Records (http://www.myspace.com/redscrollrecords)
Phoenix Records (http://www.myspace.com/phoenixrecordshop) |

Armageddon Shop is your best bet in Rhode Island. Thats the only real record store here that actually still carries good vinyl. In my opinion the cd's are over-priced...but the vinyl prices are pretty fair.
There's nothing else here anymore. Sam's Records used to be the best, but the owner turned into a crackhead and lost the store.
Newberry Comics in Warwick has a decent used metal section. I find out of print/rare cd's there all the time for like $5-$7. |

Anyone thought of doing an online guide to metal stores and shops which supply metal around the world for people to do quick and easy searches? As in REAL metal, same would be great for clubs and stuff like that.
Anyone good at web construction up for doing something like this??? I'll gladly collaborate with anyone who can help me out! |

| If you're ever up for the drive, Vintage Vinyl in north Jersey is probably the most awesome and extensive metal record store in the country. It's either in Millburn, or just outside of Millburn. Very close to the NY border. It puts Amoeba to shame. |

| Vintage Vinyl really isn't all that great...and you're certainly not very likely to find anything particularly obscure, especially on vinyl. It's the best brick and mortar store I've been too, however...though that's not saying much. They're pretty good with newer releases, though sometimes they can overcharge. I haven't been there in a while, I should take a visit. I see they got the latest Mekong Delta in for a reasonable price. |
