Quote:
Long awaited second LP from Norway's PSUDOKU is now available in the Nerve Altar store along with a full album stream on the bandcamp page.

The second deep space transmission from the crazed mind behind Parlamentarisk Sodomi and Brutal Blues. Pushing deeper into prog and kraut rock territory this is grindcore taking cues from Naked City, Magma and King Crimson. Four long tracks of space grind with guest appearances by Anders Hana (vocals), Inge Breistein (saxophone) and Wei Li (vocals). It was recorded next year in a parallel universe where grind didn't develop from hardcore punk and thrash metal but from 70s prog from the future.

"Light-years beyond our primitive earth notions of what grindcore can and should be." - avantgarde-metal.com

This is even more unlistenable than PERTURBATOR.

I actually thought it was a great name!! Full disclosure, I didn't think much of Parlamentarik Sodomi, musically.... But this shit is hella fucking weird.

Only complaint, why not offer a download to those that bought the LP?

Maybe just re-listen to the Blade Runner on 45rpm, dusted and coked out on 80's repressed FBI crack cocaine while getting a pedicure.

Parlamentarisk Sodomi were cool. This just one of those music-for-music's-sake bands though. Like, "yes, very clever"...but instantly forgettable.

IX, do you like anything besides METAL? I find to only listen to metal creates a one-trick pony mentality.

I'd rather listen to just about any release from ANY genre of music than one like this that attempts to combine about 5 and predictably does so unsuccessfully. There is absolutely no cohesion or continuity to any of these songs. It's like your average college student who, when asked about his/her favorite genre of music, replies, "I like them all." Well, congratulations and good for you. Just don't ever try to combine them all.

I don't like the genre/style of PERTURBATOR, but at least it is cohesive.

EDIT: To answer your question more directly, and to quote a phrase a friend of mine is fond of saying, you can dig a hole a mile wide and an inch deep or an inch wide and a mile deep. I prefer the latter. That said, I'd rather listen to this album than most that qualify as metal:

"Who would've thought the Arabs would have bought the U.S.A., just to give it to the Jews"

This isn't a "lol if you don't get this you're a regressive luddite" type thread. I put this on while my wife was in the shower and when she was done she stood at the top of the stairs and yelled "what THE FUCK is wrong with you?!?!?" after overhearing the b-side. Too be fair, I was listening to Fear of God the other day and she just came down and turned it off.

However, it's nice to see someone doing more than just cranking out a clone record. I think it's really well done, but that's just me. It's obviously very limited in it's appeal. I really liked No Less and Agents of Satan and Deadbodieseverywhere when I was a teenager and that stuff just gives me a migraine now.

You can't really go wrong with Waylon Jennings, or outlaw country for that matter. I was just curious if you were on a strictly metal regime, or if you expanded your pallet to other forms of (non metal) music.

Perturbator is blowing up, yes, but I don't think its going to appeal to everyone, especially on a metal forum such as this. I would expect the majority of "goat heads" on here to hate and despise it, so I'm not surprised. As far as incohesive, technical dribble...I'm with you all of the way.
