it has "Desert Plains" and "Heading out the Highway" ill give you that! two of their best songs, but the album in its entirety is pretty.. dull, I think _________________ WANTLIST/TRADELIST http://andreas-wantlist.blogspot.com/2012/03/wantlist.html

I've never liked any Judas Priest. It just goes straight over my head, like most other RAWK stuff. Rob Halford is hilarious though.

Kiss, Whitesnake and all that other stuff that I consider to be lame dross. Don't give a damn how "classic" it is. I love some Sabbath and Purple though, to be fair.

Whitesnake is considered classic heavy metal? _________________

I don't necessarily hate it, and maybe its just because I'm used to faster stuff but both Blood Ritual and Ceremony of Opposites by Samael don't do it for me. The riffs are heavy but they just seem to go on for too long, Worship him was more traditional black metal but those two albums don't get very far for me apart from a few songs. _________________

Agreed about Blood Ritual (but I still enjoy it), but Ceremony is constantly engaging for me.

I've always found most Swedish Death Metal pretty boring. I like the song "Left Hand Path" but found the rest of the album a little dull. They all have the same guitar sound which I never liked that much in the first place. I thought Dark Recollections was badass though. Soulside Journey is my favorite album in this kind of style , much more interesting to me.

Never liked anything Metallica did. Maybe it would have been different if I had been inte music when they released their first albums. It is just impossible for me to like KTA or RTL at all. I can't even figure out why anyone who wasn't there at that time would think these records are that great. Not good in the same way as early Maiden or Priest and not heavy or extreme iin any way.

I was only a child when those came out, but love both albums and would take RTL to the fabled 'desert island' with me. They are filled with great songs, it's as simple as that. How can a metal fan listen to "Creeping Death", and get nothing from it ? |

Ride the Lightning has one of the best sound productions ever on a metal album. _________________
