| I's say Hades Archer.... they're rarely talked about besides the bitching about the term penis metal. But man... this is how aggressive metal is supposed to be played. can't think of other bands playing the style they do... perhaps I need some enlightment? |

| Kadotus from Finland seems to often disappear between Goatmoons and a Clandestine Blaze. Also Deggial (Turkey) put out this great tape, but never heard anything about them. |

I've tried many times to get into Ares Kingdom, and I just can't. I own the CDs, and every time I play them, I just can't do it. On paper, they should be great. Top notch players, decent guys, proficient live show, interesting lyrics that are intelligent but not pseudo-intellectual bullshit. I can't put my finger on why I can't consider myself a fan.
Agreed on The Chasm and Cauldron Black Ram. I'll also add KAAMOS to the list. They experienced a modicum of popularity, but I thought everything they did was fantastic Swedish deathmetal, with the bar raised a bit. |

Completely agree. It's not so much that I think they'd be able to be some huge metal band, but they rarely get talked about in the circles that would appreciate them.
I love most of the stuff I've heard coming out of Chile in the last few years. I wish the labels did more to get their releases in international distros though. Proselytism seems to be the only one to do so...the other labels seem to have a "if I release it, the die hard maniacs will come..." mentality. That works fine for the die hard maniacs, but some of those bands (Hades Archer and Nar Mattaru in particular) could be big with their respective crowds if they were a bit easier to find.
