I think UNEARTHLY TRANCE fits here as well. Their debut is damn good. More black/doom metal but with the same kind of atmosphere that the almighty WINTER conjures. However my favorite UT album is "In The Red". That is clearly a transitional album, moving their discography into a slightly newer direction. Fans are mostly divided up between those who worship the debut album and those who prefer everything that came after it. I like all of their albums though, but I still need to hear the last one.

Killer band. I love In the Red and The Trident. They definitely don't get the love they deserve. I also love the two 10 inches they released in 2006-07. Not to mention Thralldom and the Howling Wind. Ryan was also on the first two Villains albums, which are also criminally underrated.

Not sure how many folks have mentioned it already, but VASSAFOR is one of the best bands going in today's underground.

Have you by any chance heard the last UT album already? Is it good?

Fall of the Idols

This band has been mostly in the shadow of Reverend Bizarre/Spiritus Mortis, but they are just as good as those two legendary finnish bands. Especially "Womb of the Earth" is a great album.

I have to say, I found this band quite dull, despite being a huge Reverend Bizarre fan - same with Minauturi and Great Coven, but I'm real fuckin' picky about doom

Yeah, I don't see many conversations about grind on here. Wormrot, Gridlink, Noisear, Parliamentarisk Sodomi, Detroit, Robocop, Iron Lung, Low Threat Profile have all released killer albums in the last few years. Any grind heads have some good recs for good new grind?

People should listen more Ammit. Also Night Conquers Day (RIP) is still totally underrated.

A lot of people here are too far up their ass with NSBM to care, and this is coming from someone who likes a few NS acts (strictly musically speaking, lyrics mean jack shit to me in most cases)

Oxidised Razor, although the later discs have more of an emphasis on groove than blast. Very death metal-sounding.

Maruta if you want more straightforward stuff, albeit a bit tech. (was for the guy above you)

Apart from the fact that you're completely wrong Gindretard, you seem not to realise that this isn't a grind board. This is a board for fans & associates of NWN! releases and bands, and just because you want to talk about grind doesn't make this the place for it. There are a kabillion other forums that go on about that stuff. So how about you fuck off from here and bother them instead?
