I also really look forward this album, but do not own a vinyl player 
Vassafor is criminally underrated, more people should drown themselves into their oppressive musical terror.
I remember being amazed when I heard Spine(VK's former band)while I was staying in Auckland.Someone should repress it, as I can't find that demo anywhere!
Unfortunately, at that time, the only "underground"gigs were featuring crappy bands such as Coven or From the dark, if I ever come back to this wonderful country, I'll make sure to be able to attend a gig including the Doom Cult legions! |

this is an absolutely phenomenal recording. vassafor is the best project to emerge from that scene in my opinion. i would like a cd version of this too. it would be a shame if one never emerges.

As for other formats, there will be a tape version of Obsidian Codex which will surface eventually via Parasitic and Serpent's Head Reprisal. There will be different tracks added and 2 omitted from this version.
Obsidian Codex will NOT be released on CD(s). With the amount of songs for various releases we have committed ourselves to these last years and next we are looking at about 3 hours worth of music. All is to be released initially on analog formats but after they are issued, I am considering compiling 3 CDs worth of music which will be released via 3 different labels in different regions worldwide so at least some of Vassafor's music is accessible cheaply without people having to be raped by postage. I'm sure all of us on this forum would agree its severely hurting underground trading at the moment, esp if you live in the arsehole of the planet like we do in NZ haha! But these CDs will happen only if it seems a genuine need for it exists. I personally would never own them, as CDs are only useful to me until an LP exists. Generally most CDs are worthless junk in my opinion, gimme a Kvltsette any day!
As for downloading a rip of dLP, well I'm sure those will exist soon enough. However the rip of the Promo MMX that is floating around is actually a totally inferior upload that seems to be the wrong sample rate. For a start its the incorrect length, speed and tuning so its been time compressed. We do actually sound quite a bit better than that I think... |

the artwork is fantastic as always.
ive said it many times elsewhere, so i wont belabor it here, cds are a far better format than they are given credit for being especially for complex and rich music (such as vassafor).

Parasitic is doing this release, sounds like there are plenty of distros in UK, Europe and further afield that will be getting copies once this is out |
