The Malta Doom Metal Festival 2012 - 2nd & 3rd November

After the huge success of the past three editions of the Malta Doom Metal festival we are making the requisite preparations to ensure another worthy edition of MDM on the 2nd and 3rd of November 2012 celebrating doom metal and its diverse shades and hues with the best the genre has to offer both locally and moreover internationally. It is our resolve to continue to build this festival and ensure that Malta is the No 1 destination for doom and related genres in Southern Europe! Hopefully some of you will be interested in joining us!

We are delighted to confirm once more Malta's veteran doom flag-bearers FORSAKEN for this year's edition. This time the show will feature new tracks from there upcoming album Pentateuch Vol.1...an epic doom album to end all epic doom albums!!

Also, French doom maniacs CHILDREN OF DOOM are added to the lineup. Prepare for some heavy 'booze-fuelled' doom!

The last band to complete the MDM 2012 lineup are Spain's Doom/Death metallers from EVADNE. Fans of Officium Triste, 11th Hour and other bands of that ilk, will love this band. Their latest album 'The Shortest Way' has been produced by none other than the legendary Dan Swano (Edge of Sanity, Nightingale, Bloodbath etc).

Well then, some updates regarding the ever-approaching MDM Festival 2012.

Firstly (as maybe some of you might know) we regret to announce that Semlah have cancelled their show at MDM 2012. Bassist and founder member Wilbur had this to say regarding this matter:

"It is with a heavy heart that I inform all Semlah fans that the band members have decided to go their separate ways due to lack of interest in the music. Therefore it's impossible to do this gig in Malta, and finishing the new record is delayed and uncertain".

We quickly went to work for a replacement and we are proud to announce Doom/Death metallers of TETHRA from Italy as the last band to be added to the lineup. They will be unleashing for the very first time new tracks from the upcoming full length.

Also, the local band Slit has made way to a new band called 'It Came From the Desert' which actually features members of the former band, playing new material in a Southern Rock/Doom oriented way. This will actually be their first gig ever.

For those interested, tickets are now available for reservation from our official website: http://www.maltadoom.com. We urge everyone to reserve their ticket beforehand, especially foreigners, since they are going quite fast.

Also, on Thursday 1st November Void Moon will be launching their album 'On the blackest of nights' in a local venue here in Malta. So this will be kind of a 'pre-party' for what is to come for the following 2 days. If any of y'all will be attending the MDM Fest, mark this event on your schedule.
