Black-Metal is a vessel, as recently stated in The Sinister Flame. That can be extended to music in general.
On the topic I do enjoy Heavy-Metal, and Doom-Metal too, but not that sludge and stoner hippie crap. _________________ Scrutare et vide quia propheta a Galilaea non surgit! |

NWOBHM is great to listen to at work because your coworkers usually don't try to lynch you for it. _________________

I've never been able to dig 95% of the NWOBHM I've listened to. I respect the genre and all but it's just not for me.
Doom metal on the other hand, is one of my favorite genres of music in general, especially traditional doom metal. |

This is pretty much my opinion as well. I do like some doom stuff, but I'm not actively expanding my taste in the genre, it's basically limited the the few bands that I already know and enjoy. _________________ If you are a false don't marry! | I love NWOBHM, I dislike most of doom, starting with the bands like Trouble, Saint Vitus, Cathedral, I like Pentagram, Pagan Altar, Candlemass, Witchfinder General (which I wouldn't call full on doom, rather heavy mixed with doom) |

I really enjoy both doom/NWOBHM. Candlemass and Solitude Aeturnus are hands down incredible. I've always liked the genre, but have been mildly obsessed with NWOBHM for the last year or so. I was actually kind of surprised when I first came to this forum how many users like both doom/trad/NWOBHM. Stoner is hard for me to get into, though it has been growing on me more and more. _________________ http://kleptocracy.bandcamp.com/

| You'd be hard pressed to find anyone that either doesn't like or respect NWOBHM or traditional doom. Like a few posters here I prefer death/older funeral doom bands compared to the classic stuff but I can listen to Saint Vitus, Trouble, ect from time to time when I'm in the mood. This Vice/Southern Lord hipster style of doom (drone, heavy occult retro) is total shit however. |
