I like Havohej, even the newer stuff, but Profanatica is much better. I don't even think of Dethrone as a Havohej record, it's all Profanatica songs, so at best it's an album full of covers.

Unholy Darkness and Impurity is one of my favorite 7" ever. So fucking dark and unusual. |

all I know is that the packaging of the grand masters session is probably the coolest thing in my collection. and thats all that really matters.

This was a better question 10 years ago when both bands had a smattering of EPs and demos out. Nowadays Profanatica has far more quality releases under its belt.

Really tried to get into both of these bands but I never did ... a big "meh" in my book.
Also, saw Profanatica live a couple years ago and I was not impressed - always thought those Nun Habits that they wear looked corny...

| Even though Dethrone the Son of God is mostly Profanatica songs, it's still under the Havohej monicker and I slightly prefer that album to Proafantica's output. It has a really ferocious sound that Profanatica didn't capture as well. Like everyone else has said though, it's hard to judge an album against a band who shared the same songs. |

Was it the show in NJ where Paul yelled at the guitarist and made him restart two of the songs before beating his drums with a crucifix and storming off the stage 20-25 minutes into their set? 'Cause yea, I wasn't impressed either. |
