It's embarrassing to admit this, but I was embracing my 1st world country materialistic side this morning and came across a few of these as I scanned my collection. (some gems, some duds)
Carbonized - Disharmonization
Haemoth- Demo pic disc
Wormwood LP
a bunch of broootal cheese
Convulse (old Relapse single)
and a few more
anyone else? |

Most of my collection is in storage right now, I'm a little embarassed to admit that whenever I go to my mother in laws place I immediately dash down to the basement, hit the beer fridge and thumb through my collection to make sure certain things are still there.... not that anyone would have stolen them, but that they aren't missing somehow. I had a big chunk of rare hc lps vanish about a decade ago from a shifty ex roommate and then a spiteful ex girlfriend, it years to fully figure out what went 'missing'....
And then when I find it, huge relief!! Of course I would never sell my cherished Attitude Adjustment LP or my Septic Death 7"s..... _________________ http://www.last.fm/user/ngadke |

I once forgot I had Deicide "Once Upon The Cross" on vinyl and bought a second copy. _________________ Helcaraxë - Epic Heathen Death Metal

It has happened to me many times so far. I always discover something new every time I rearrange my collection in order to make more room for new CDs / vinyls.
Last week I found out I have a Rammstein DVD and I don't even like Rammstein. Maybe it's some old present I don't remember. I'm gonna watch it sometime out of curiosity. _________________ Sic transit gloria mundi |

it used to happen to me occasionally that i would buy a 2nd copy of an album i owned. it says a lot when it happens more than once and more than twice. since then i have sold a lot of my collection, probably two thirds by now. because i have moved a lot in the last few years i still find cd's in storage that i had forgotten.
recent rediscoveries:
nocturnus - thresholds
sigh - scorn defeat _________________ There is a country called Tír na N Óg, which means the Country of the Young, for age and death have not found it; neither tears and loud laughter have gone near it. The shadiest boskage covers it perpetually. |

A few years ago while re-organizing everything I found a bunch of promo CDs. I threw them all in the garbage but then thought "what the hell I will try to put them on eBay". One of them, Nightwish, sold for over $100!!!
And being busy with family life I notice that I will buy something and then forget about it. Few months go by, the wife and child are away and I have some alone time, I discover a few albums I didn't "know" I had.
I still remember when my collection was exactly 23 cassettes. I still have some of them left. Some got melted in the car on a steaming summer day and some just went missing. Back then I never would've thought that my collection would exceed 30 albums. _________________

Yesterday was the first time that I found that I owned an album that I have no recollection of buying. I need to spend more time with my music. _________________ http://www.thehereticstorch.blogspot.com/
