Bestial shit, retro swedeath and DT clone bands are by far the shittiest.
Though, this "occult" death metal crap is getting pretty redundant as well, but it's still not as bad as the aforementioned.
There aren't many Incantation clones I can think of, and the ones mentioned like Dead Congregation or Godless aren't exactly clones and even if they were, they're actually pretty great.

| Couldn't really choose between Bestial and Norsecore, both are horribly cloned and cloned over. I don't actually listen much of "dark" death metal or swedeath so I couldn't say them because of a really small attention the genres. |

Darkthrone TH-era clones are the obvious choice. As much as I dislike the bestialfago thing, I'll be a much happier man the day I understand how people can enjoy that horrible two-riffs-under-blastbeats mosquito buzz.
Not mentioned in the poll but those black/thrash abortions like Nocturnal, Bestial Mockery etc are also so awful it hurts.

Wouldn't norsecore be more of Marduk/DF clones?
Anyway, how retro-faggot-thrash hasn't been mentioned, although there are good clones coming from the scene too.

the swedish DM one should be the most obvious as bands like Entombed suck and can fuck off eternal. HOWEVER, in this day and age, its the blasphemy clones that are a creeping pestilence.... bestial bullshit metal please go away ASAP!! revenge can go too as far as in concerned (predictable zZzZzZzZz)

No faggot, if you weren't 16 and hadn't found out about bm through youtube one year ago you'd know the term "norsecore" mainly refers to copycats of the Norwegian style. It was first used on Tales of the Macabre mag around 1996-98.

Norse-clones, for two reasons; the mediocre bands ripping of Darkthrone and the outright awful bands copying Burzum.
A lot of the "bestial" stuff might have a bit of a cheesy aesthetic most of the time (at least I can't take all that posturing seriously) but at least the bands are fairly good at what they do. |

All of the options in the poll suck pretty equally. Norsecore may be slightly shittier overall but if it was an option I'd vote for the newthrashfaggot bands. |

Guess I'll be jumping on the Bestial bandwagon here. My opinion ought not to count as I'm really not all that fond of it anyway, minus a select few bands (so obviously the clones do nothing for me). I'd be more interested in war metal if i found a band who had suffered through war and who were writing about it in a form of musical catharsis, the best way music is written. Some authenticity, is what I am getting at.
I mean, the worst clones possible are the folk metal ones, but I'm inclined to believe that those who would even consider folk metal "metal" on this board are few and far between. |
