This band has pretty much always sucked. Power Metal was a passable album, but even that was only mediocre at best. Pantera's macho era is just an early version of Slipknot or Korn. Teen angst played by guys who are way to fucking old to be raging about teen angsty shit.

Absolutely agree. The ONLY album in my house is Power Metal because, in the grand chasm, it's their most honest record. EVER. Fanboys and hillbillies will disagree in the their pick-up trucks all the way to the drive-in, but facts are facts. This band is the ULTIMATE poser band switching styles to accommodate a burgeoning hardcore/metal contingent that is too brain dead to understand what the underground encompasses.

Heard Pantera and thought "Yeah, this is music I can listen to when I want to relax the Death Metal". Then my younger brother got into it, there was no metal magic for this cowboy from hell after that. Vulgar Display of Brother.

I only liked Cowboys and Vulgar. Now I don't.

This band reeks of phoniness. It's also suspicious that Phil has denied his glam past. Also alot of the lyrics are just stupid and would appeal to frustrated teenagers. But I'll admit Darrel was a good guitarist, it's just too bad he played in this band.

I'd guess I wouldn't be the only one who had their musical tastes shaped by seeing Napalm Death on mainstream TV here in the UK

I remember watching that on TV when it was first on!

I think great southern trendkill has aged ok, the rest? Not so much, far beyond driven is flat out horrible..

I'm 38 this year, that metal doc was on new years eve in 88' I think, shortly after it finished I watched my dad kick the shit out of one of our old neighbours. I remember the seps on the word, they had the metal fans in a cage and were throwing them raw meat.

Ha! Yeah, a dude from my home town went down to that! Funny as fuck.

The Napalm stuff is from the Arena Heavy Metal special. Great footage of a guy moshing at Rock City @ 5'48. Ahem...

I'm certainly no uber kvlt goat worshipper, but aren't this band just weak as piss with cliched dumb ass riffing for teenage kids? Fuck, I'm pleased I had Death, Septic Death and Godflesh to listen to in my adolescence.

After an adolescence listening to 80s metal & punk, when I heard Panterrible they just sounded like Skid Row crossed with Helmet.

"This is supposed to be heavy?"

I do think it hilarious how morns that try to white knight this shit band try to play the "you're just trying to appear underground!" card.

Ha ha! I couldn't agree more! Utter dross.

surely not all of us grew up during death metal's heyday, but whatever.

also, suspicious post delete.

I'm fortunate to be older and got into extreme metal early enough to realize that when Pantera hit the scene they we're just really generic. The kids really loved them though.

Yer, I guess I was one of those kids that liked Pantera when he was 13... Dimes stuff got me into playing guitar but that's all there is to it. Good player, crap band.

That said surely there's a reason they left this off the original CD? Why release this stuff now, are they going to continue milking the cashcow like they do with Death/Schuldiner's "legacy"?
