That bothered me, I cant unsee it now, it's like I need to do something to fix it. |

I'm trying not to let the hype get to me, but I'm pretty sure these are my thoughts as well when I've listened to the record for the first time. Waiting for the lp. _________________ http://www.UnbornProductions.com

Just listened to it and I can agree with you. Was better than Häxän for sure, as I never got into that album. _________________

It's not as bad as the thread on the new Wrathprayer album was at least Henbane deserves most of the praise it's getting. |

I absolutely agree on this point, the uber praise on the new Wrathprayer album was completely ridiculous, the album was good, but also filled with generic riffs, nothing special at all. _________________ Attacked by Fire!. |

| Again, does anyone know a release date for the vinyl? I was amazed to pick up a copy of the Haxan DLP yesterday for 40 euros shipped as well. |

Couldn't get into Haxan either, so that is good to know.
I listened to the song Hells Headbangers posted from Henbane; it sounds ok. Nothing mind blowing. |

| On first listen I thought it was good but not outstanding, but the more I listen to it and the more I enjoy Henbane, it is really excellent. |

Let's agree to disagree...I for one felt that the Wrathprayer deserved all the praise it got. |

I really, really enjoyed both Cultes Des Ghoules and Wrathprayer albums. Are they as good as a lot of the people here have made them out to be? Probably not, probably won't be albums of the century or anything like that, but they're still quality.
Then again, it all just comes down to taste. Personally I think bands like Genocide Shrines and Bolzer are way overrated among folk here. At least from what I've seen in their threads. |

Sorry if this is already spoken about but I'm not going through 30 odd pages of a thread and a simple google search gave me nothing......
I just got the album today and I notice on the second last page of the cd sleeve it says the album was performed by CULTES DES GHOULES and NAMELESS VOID.
Is this the same Nameless Void as in Negative Plane?
On the album - early days but it sounds class. Haxan and Spectres were brilliant so its no surprise. The hype is probably because this is excellent modern black metal (a rare thing considering the tons of average stuff released) yet it sounds old, mouldy, evil, black and has the tunes to back it all up - just like the classic stuff from 20+ years ago. |

| Haxan’s a tricky album; it demands much patience and attention for such a minimalist sound, the length of the compositions is crucial too and well warranted. The sounds are familiar yet refreshing and worthy of all the praise it gets, must get a copy of Henbane soon. |
