Greek legends AGATUS will release a new 7"EP in 2011, after the release of the "Night mares" EP. The ep consists of two (totally) NEW tracks, the first to be written since the release of "The weaving fates" album in 2002.

Great news indeed but "to be released 2011" probably means that the EP won't be released until 2013.

Yes, will be done on Those Opposed.

Tracks are recorded and ready. Layout is being worked on. Definitely coming in 2011, can't tell yet if it's gonna before or after summer though.

edit: typo in the date.

2001, cool !

Thought Necroterror was releasing this first. Or is that another EP ?

Any updates on the new Lugubrum Noel ? Definitely going to Valenciennes next week, it's really close to the Belgian border.

And please, if possible, release all the older Lugubrum albums on vinyl !

Yes Necroterror is doing the "Night mares" EP before, details on their website:
"Secondly, we proudly announce a brand new upcoming release from Hellenic legends Agatus in the form of a 7" EP. This release features two new old tracks unearthed from the band's archives including a truly awe-inspiring instrumental track. Two of the songs featured on Agatus' splendid second album "The Weaving Fates" are also featured here in alternate form, featuring a different mix, vocals and additional elements that were either omitted or altered during the recording process. An essential release in understanding this incredible band's progression."

Then we will release this new EP which is the subject of this topic. So that's two different EPs from Agatus this year.

Actually about Lugubrum, they told me I should have the master by now but I guess they suffered a bit of a delay.
Heard three songs and from what I can tell it possibly will be their best. I know every band or label say this about a new album but I don't see how I could put this differently to be honest. And the sound could be crushing as well if they keep the one I've heard (with some great bass parts).

Sadly, I missed them in Paris (France is just fucking big), I can't go to Valenciennes, it's a very long drive for me. Hope you'll enjoy it.

About the vinyls, I know there are talks with a label to do this, but news will be revealed once this is sure news I guess. I would if I didn't have 3 vinyl plans to do this year...

From what I can judge, these tracks are moving towards something more heavy and less black metal (even though you can't call the weaving fates a black metal album) with great solo work.
Made for headbanging.

That's not a bad move in my book (of heavy metal).
