Record Store Day is now upon us, but for those of you not lucky enough to live near an indie record store (or in a country not participating), we have a very limited number of each of the Earache releases available now on our store!

There's an At The Gates / Decapitated split 7" picture disk, each covering a Slayer classic and brought together to honour the fallen legend, Jeff Hanneman.
We have a Carcass / Cerebral Bore split 7" picture disk, featuring tracks recorded by each band that have never previously been available on vinyl!
The Temperance Movement have elected to cover a track by two of Britpop's finest bands, Oasis and Blur. This particular release is selling fast, so place your order quickly!
In anticipation of their forthcoming album, "Great Western Valkyrie", Rival Sons have released a green 7" vinyl, featuring two tracks from the album, "Electric Man" and "Belle Starr".
And finally, for the very first time, Earache's tribute to Black Sabbath, "Masters Of Misery", is now available on vinyl. Furthermore, exclusive to the Earache Webstore, we have a stunning red/green tie-dye vinyl, limited to just 200 copies!

And as if that wasn't enough, for the Easter weekend only, we've reduced all of our merch and albums by At The Gates, Carcass, Cerebral Bore, Decapitated, The Temperance Movement and all bands featured on the "Masters Of Misery" vinyl! This sale ends on Monday, so you cannot wait around for this one.

Managed to bag Katatonia's Kocytean EP from my local indie today. Glad that Earache had the two singles up on their webstore, as they hadn't got those in.

Record Store Day started good, interesting and unique releases, but it's become a farce really. Who cares about splits between bands that has nothing in common or colored re-release of something you can easily pic with cheaper price as original. Sadly, some youngsters care, but when this stuff is on sale online at the same time, record store day-indeed, the original idea is nowhere to be found anymore.

I'm sure the actual underground in every genre hates this shit as their real releases are always delayed because of this.

Do these still exist? What other genres have undergrounds?

Is anything underground? After Google, not much is beyond the eye of the keyboard.

I'm sure if you'd actually run a label or a band instead of complaining about the lack of underground on the internet year after year, you'd have a much better view with things.

REAL record store day is when NWN has it's 40% off sale. That's a record store day!
This other one claiming itself as record store day is unknown to me.

So, please enlighten me about your underground adventures, but please skip the last 20 internet-years.

yes !
I usually wait for the NWN sale.
It has immensely helped slowly re-build my collection closer to something comparable from my teenage years/20's (but now usually with newer releases, heh).
If I was loaded with cash like the old days, I would not have to do this (Missed out on a few items due to me being a miser).

I totally agree, but then again, look at the "sold for" prices on these:

http://www.discogs.com/Melvins-Shit-Sandwich/release/1120833
http://www.discogs.com/Venom-Live/release/2033188

Melvins 7'' is blank; Venom one is Cronos talking. Lots of people are morons. I bet a lot of people will buy the "World's Shortest Album."
