It's how a collection was gathered which is far more interesting and much more satisfying to the actual collector i would of thought.

Why have a collection of shit youve just got through bidding or simply pressing "buy it now" to get?

Anyone with a few credit cards could post a picture of the best ever die-hard,burzum,deathcrush,moonblood or whatever else collection within a month from now having started with nothing...

Would it be impressive? 666 scene points? king of the forum for a year?

The days of collecting are really pointless. Nothing is collectable and nothing is rare since if you miss one Ebay listing you simply wait for another one (or simply start bidding on the dozens of other auctions selling the same item)

Cool story, bro

You usually post crap of the lowest kind but you have a point there (somewhere) this time.

No "No presents for X mas" or "Black Funeral" 12" & 7" pic disc?

The Black Funeral 12" is there. A few items are indeed still missing (original Die Schwarze Maske, Black Message, Live, Spider's Lullabye black vinyl etc) but still a good collection.

@Vothana: the Conspiracy graveyard cover is the Greek bootleg, isn't it?

It actually is; he's 100% correct. In most cases it's just materialistic bullshit.

Good points if you're someone who is collecting just for the sake of the collection.
But,if you are actually going to play the vinyl what difference does it make how you aquired it.
I get the most satisfaction out of listening to my records, that I just won off of ebay,or picked up from Discogs, not looking at them on the shelf,or posting pics of them.

Collection pics are cool. That's a NWNforum fact and it's not up for discussion.

I guess he means it's easy to track down the records you want thesedays when you have things like ebay and discogs. Before you had to just wait around and hope for the best that you'd come across something in a second hand store or on a trip abroad.

It's not true. Some of us spend years tracking down rare records. I still have a wantlist from five years ago that I'm working through. Half the records I've still never seen pictures of.

Thrust & Lazer live split LP. 1982 (Both from Chicago). Benefit LP for the striking workers at the docks of Gdansk. Chicago & a few other US cities have a huge Polish community.
