I also had the misfortune of listening to Cathedral at age 14.
Still fuming that I spent my hard earned $20 or whatever it was to buy that debut album - fucking piece of shit "doom" album. |

| Yeah that first DEICIDE lp was endlessly spun everywhere we went. As good as it still is, I find it hard to listen to it anymore given how dumb the band has acted since then. It almost feels like the stupid could be contagious. |

Still remember when Altars Of Madness was release 89, i was 14 and guy who sold it to me say: you,ll get it cheaper because there is something wrong on lp, making strange sounds when start play. heh, that backward intro.

First three DEICIDE were and are still part of my favourite DM albums, I even rank them higher as anything released by MORBID ANGEL. It's the perfection of what I consider as "Brutal Death Metal".
The band itself (or at least Glen Benton) was always stupid from the beginning, so nothing gets spoiled here for me. |

I started listening to extreme stuff at a very young age, so there's no need to gain extra-kult points stating that 'Gothic', 'Left hand path', 'Onward to Golgotha', 'World downfall' and 'Streetcleaner' were the pillars of my musical education during the teenage years.

I preferred Deicide's ST over AOM. These days, I have them much closer though probably prefer Deicide for nostalgic reasons. Sacrifical Suicide - doesn't get much better when you're 13 or so. |

I sold all my Morbid Angel records besides Altars and Abominations.
Never really got into those later albums and they haven't aged well for me.

I was born in 1980. As for the other comment on the "maturity" of the list, I can't see why you singled out Saint Vitus... It's such a fuckin rockin' album for the kids, also one of the rare bands from the "Forest..." list I could get my hands on at the time
