| FETO is my favourite grind album. That along with Scum, and the Mentally Murdered and especially THE CURSE EPs is some of the most essential grindcore out there. I'm quite into Harmony Corruption and some of Utopia, but after that I only really like a handful of tracks (Breed to Breathe comes to mind). They do tear it up live aswell. |

If you see them live each year, like I have done for the last 6 or 7 years or so, the speeches do tend to get annoying because it's basically the same every gig.
But when they play instead of talk, they totally shred! Their gig at Obscene extreme some years ago was spectacular. I actually stagedived for the first time since I was 15 |

"Its all about equal distribution of the resources.." Greenway while chucking water over the first few rows of audience It was like an oven in the venue when I saw them....remember how pissed I was my mate passed out in the pit and I had to practically drag him up the stairs to the bar to pour free glasses of water over his head til he came to, missing "Scum" and "Life?" in the process, I was also bemused by Barney's mop top haircut, sandals and shorts when they came onstage haha, good show that was. |

I am a HUGE fan of Napalm Death, in all their incarnations. I even like the post-Utopia Banished "death metal" era that every seems to hate. Fear Emptiness Despair is a MASSIVE fucking death metal record.
And yes, their early lyrics were great. How can you argue with the lyrics to Unchallenged Hate (what an in-your-face way to make an antiracist statement -- it probably even pissed off the antiracists)... or the great anti-religion lyrics to Suffer the Children. _________________ Helcaraxë - Epic Heathen Death Metal

I thought about lyrics like Siege of Power... I think they had kickass straightforward punkish lyrics. Very brutal, direct to your cortex words.
Later lyrics became more moralistic... less interesting. _________________ If you tell me to recycle

FETO is one of the best albums ever, and the Peel sessions are still completely pulverizing. I'm not a completist, but the last couple albums have been ok, if you ignore the "modern" production and the lyrical content and focus on the riffs then they are enjoyable.
This was the first ND song I heard, if the drum intro doesn't make you want to kill shit then you are probably some sort of desmond.

Everyone posting in this thread should remember to mention this. |
well, i can't stand lyrics from 80% of bands around... lyrics are too poor, or too stupid, or just ridicolous, or pathetic wannebeees occultist attempts, so everyone posting here or not should put on utopia banished, harmony corruption, from enslavement to obliteration and listen them till getting sick. _________________

Funny, got hit by ND nostalgia just yesterday...
Diatribes was my introduction to extreme music, after that it wasn't long until I got completely fascinated by Scum/FETO. It an eyeopener to hear music that was that extreme in that many ways, unlike anything else I had heard before, this was extreme from the core. As I later found there were many bands before them with the same quality, but FETO is still the pinnacle of grind/extreme punk. Not many can pull off this sort of primitivism with that kind appeal

Scum and FETO are mandatory here, don't care about the rest. |
I'd include the Hatred Surge & FETO demos, the Peel Sessions, Mentally Murdered & the SOB split in that assessment, but I'm basically on the same page. _________________
