I forgot to add some fusion-y, fruity bullshit to my list. That wacky sax/bass and drums of TRIOSCAPES was another contender.... _________________ http://www.last.fm/user/ngadke |

Witchrist - The Grand Tormentor
Wrathprayer - Sun of Moloch
Svartidauði - Flesh Cathedral
Beyond - Enter Transcendence
Alchemyst - Nekromanteion (from what I've heard - not fully heard it yet... but sounds a worthy album)
Anhedonist - Netherwards
Pseudogod - Deathwomb Catechesis
Dead Can Dance - Anastasis
My Dying Bride - A Map of All Our Failures (a pleasant surprise!)
Pallbearer - Sorrow and Extinction
Aldebaran - Embracing The Lightless Depths
Adele - Skyfall soundtrack (no joke!) _________________ In Fear and Flame and Death! |

| I've only copped a handful of new releases in 2012. The one getting the most spins by far has to be Arkham Witch's "Legions of the Deep". Anyone who is/was a big fan of The Lamp of Thoth needs to get acquainted with this one immediately. It completely carries that quirky, pulpy, Lamp spirit but with a more pronounced traditional heavy metal feel (as opposed to doom). |

If Mechina had released Empyrean this year it would have been on the list and basically at the top, so for 2012 I have liked these releases in no particular order:
Fear Factory- The Industrialist
Mysteriarch- Mournful Embrace of Aeons
Demoncy- Enthroned is the Night
Devilish Impressions- Simulcara
Meshuggah- Koloss
Sybreed- God is an Automaton _________________ Well black metal doesn't really go in that group... at all.... Black metal is all witches and warlocks and graveyards....
We are finally free from gods or men who claim to be. |

Many good albums this year, too many to list all of them, and so many my pockets hurt.
I have to mention:
Killing Joke - MMXII
Mgla - With Hearts Toward None
Lunar Aurora - Hoagascht (RIP)
Brian Eno - Lux
Dead Can Dance - Anastasis
Vassafor - Obsidian Codex
Circle - Manner
Dor De Duh - Dar De Duh
Baptism - As The Darkness Enters
Asphyx - Deathhammer
Alcest - Les voyages de l'âme
Album of the year:
My Dying Bride - A Map of All Our Failures
Because I'm a big fan and this one delivers on all levels for anyone that loves their music.
Biggest disappointment:
Katatonia - Dead End Kings
Completely shit album, rushed leftover music. Sellout. _________________ http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Flight-Of-Sleipnir/267879219900772 |

Wasn't it in 2011 ? (but yes, killer release)
About 2012, from what I have heard :
- CHARON "Sulphur Seraph (The Archon principle)"
- DENIAL OF GOD "Death and the Beyond"
- FAUSTCOVEN "Hellfire and funeral bells"
- MASTER'S HAMMER "Vracejte konve na místo"
- PROFANATICA "Sickened by holy host"
- SORCIER DES GLACES "Snowland MMXII"
- THE ROYAL ARCH BLASPHEME "II"
- YSENGRIN "To Endotaton"
+
- AORLHAC / DARKENHÖLD / OSSUAIRE / YSENGRIN "La maisniee du maufe - A tribute to the dark ages" Split MCD
- DOOMBRINGER "Sevenfold pestilence" 7" EP
- DOOMBRINGER / GOAT TYRANT "The darkside's calling into the crypts of oblivion" Split 7" EP
- HATESPAWN "Blasphemous redeemer" Demo
- MALÉFICES "Povr le sangs" Demo
- MALÉFICES "Rites crvels" Demo
- MASTER'S HAMMER "Transgalaktický řezník / Barva kosmu" 7" EP
But there's still a lot of (probably great) stuffs I haven't listen yet (Avenger, Coffin Texts, Essenz, Derkéta, Candlemass, Necrovation, Evoken, Encoffination, Alchemyst, Incantation, Vassafor, 0xíst...) |

Well, haven't listened too much music this year (busyness, you know), but speaking of highlights, BM album-wise, nothing can beat Dødsengel "Imperator". End of year delivered "Mysteria Mystica Maxima XXIII" by LvxCælis, grand thank for them as well. BM demo-wise, I was mostly re-listening "Illuminates of Thanateros" by Archdaeva. Whole non-metal inspiration goes for Die Antwoord "Ten$ion" (and related videos, of corpse), relistened it no less times than "Imperator" and have to admit that the presence of the Devil there is not any less. Mentioning own releases is a bad taste, so I won't. _________________ Kiss My Coffin!
