I've seen it in one of the record stores that I go to sometimes.

Anyways, the Southern Lord release of Boris' Pink comes with an envelope with blotter paper, the kind that people eat acid.

Not an LP but the Belphegor re-issue 4-5 years ago has a REAL Gas mask and an Army Bag.

There exists an old (australian?) promo LP of Iron Maiden's Powerslave with a little bag of sand glued on the cover.

Really great tread! Though I can't seem to remember anything else right now.

Oh, and Waldteufel re-issued the Rauhnacht album on LP and it came with a thick, wooden insert, containing laser etched art and album credits. Very cool if you ask me but difficult to insert and put back in, as it can damage the LP cover. Razz

They've released their new album with this plaster cast relief as well...

Not metal, but Rolling Stones had a sleeve with a real zipper on it

The original Alice Cooper "Schools Out" sleeve opens up like a school desk

There was that Vikterriket record that was bolted to a piece of wood. It was a bit lazy on execution, but a decent idea for special "noise" styled packaging.

That's the oddest description and the oddest way to do something special to a freakin' record... I just can't picture that in my head... Shocked

It's seriously just bolted to a piece of wood. I have to find a photo of it.

Ahhh, that makes much more sense now.

I just thought another unusual gimmick of some kind but a Godspeed you Black Emperor album has instructions on how to make a molotov cocktail in Italian in one of their inserts. They also included a crushed penny with a whole bunch of papers and a blueprint type printing in their debut album on LP.

I forgot which noise band it was but they released an LP without any holes, you have to drill the hole by yourself and whatever the outcome is, then that's your music.
