Fuck how much I hate the people that hear these records in advance! I can't wait for any samples. Or to tell the truth, I just want the whole album already. |

I agree. The standard BEHEXEN vocal sound is now a trademark of SARGEIST.
I enjoyed their last effort, can't even remember the name...the production was abysmal (in a good way) and had sikk songs. My favourite of their work is "Rituale Satanum" (which I still have an original pressing on Sinister Figure!) - but I still follow their work to see what they got going on.
And yes, BEHEXEN logo to cover before it goes to press.
Please post sample track! |

I don't think you'd feel that way if you had seen them live in the past few years. That said, the vocals have changed from full length to full length pretty much, I'm envisioning something like the vocal style on Let the Devil In but we shall see. |
I saw them live in 2010. Very good performance indeed. What I mean is that the older material (pre "By the Blessings...") has something rather unique to it that the newer material is missing somehow. Not just because of the new "darker" kind of vox, but the material has also changed direction a bit. That said - Behexen is still good. They just don't have the same unique edge and atmosphere as they had on the earlier material. Especially the hymns on the split with Horna are of an extraordinary quality.. _________________ "...We know that these clashes with Asia and Jewry are necessary for evolution..." |

Yes, this is the correct cover.
Looks great, but I preferred it without the logo.
The band is more serious than ever, so their more or less generic logo shouldve been dropped. That being said, does it really matter? _________________

I wouldn't exactly say that a logo decides if the band is serious or not. But hey, look at Dimmu Borgir when they wanted to become bigger and a lot more serious. So you might have a point after all!
I agree with you do though, the cover looked somewhat better without the logo. |

In the larger scheme of things, it doesn't. Now let us wait for the music (which is the most important, right?) to be released instead of nitpicking on logo matters
I surprisingly enjoyed their last album quite a bit, so this new one is definitely welcome. |

So, as bands develop themselves in a more "serious" direction, they should drop their original logos? My impression of Behexen is that they always have been rather serious in their work..
And yes, logo or not matters. BM is after all a rather visual kind of art. In my opinion that is. Behexen have a good, suiting logo they should stick to. _________________ "...We know that these clashes with Asia and Jewry are necessary for evolution..." |

It's kind of like when Akercocke "was serious", atleast thats what everybody thought back in the day, they used suits on stage to have a more serious look than your average "metal shirt"-band, or corpse paint band, etc.
Behexens logo is far better than most bands, but the version without the logo just spoke to me more. It looked like more than "yet another Black Metal record". _________________
