Are there people here into this band ?

For your information, note that the 2nd album Ltd Lp is now available for pre-orders.

Cheers

J.

I saw them at the last edition of the Keep It True Festival, they were kinda ok, agressive thrash metal with hints a la Nuclear Assault here and there which I'm not fond at all. Anyway, they're a tight live act but I prefer Fueled By Fire, saw them at KIT the day after and these latins are one of the most destructive thrash metal forces I've witnessed on a long long time.

The most overrated young Thrash band nowadays in my opinion! Their stuff sounds to me just like a bunch of slayer-rip off riffs, repetitive and boring. And the vocals are some of the most annoying in Thrash Metal ever in my opinion. There are so many better bands nowadays...

I wasn't into them when I saw them open up for Sadistic Intent. It was a bit too fun for me.

Did you name the band after the old Dark Angel song or is it just coincidence?

It's funny that you ask that because it was a total coincidence. It was during school that Dan came up with a possible name for the band. The name he offered was Merciless Onslaught but I didn't like it too much, so I asked him "How about replacing the word 'Onslaught' with 'Death'?" He really liked the idea and from that point on, we called ourselves Merciless Death. I make it sound all easy but we had actually been struggling for a few weeks trying to come up with a name. Anyways, it was a coincidence that we named ourselves after the Dark Angel song because I don't think I found out about that band for another few weeks or a month. I remember calling Dan when I found out about Dark Angel and their song but he though they were a really great band and I know I didn't have any objections to naming ourselves after one of Dark Angel's songs, so we stuck with the name.

A lot of these bands in the new thrash craze strike me as the equivalent to the "fashion punks." More concerned about their style then they are about the music; Merciless Death being one example.

I do not know this band, but what I heard sounds pretty lame. But on the other hand I do not judge them on the fact that they don`t know their metal history. That just sounds stupid to me. If the music was right I am sure you guys would not make this an issue.

Intie with Dan of Merciless Death from my zine:
6. From what I have seen on your bootleg videos not only you look like a guys taken by a time machine from mid-80'ties but also the audience. How many of'em, you think, looks like that every day and how many are posing?
Well im not sure about them, for us we have looked like this since before we met back in highschool that’s why it gets me sometimes when people make comments about that shit and say its stupid to dress like that, we look that way because we want to, we don’t give a fuck what anyone thinks, plus its kind of funny to me when people say “play the music, its not about the clothes!” or some shit and they are the ones talking about the clothing, not the music! Haha. I couldn’t tell you which people are posing or not as there are tons of people going to shows in l.a., but put it this way, I know a lot of people that are really

Well I didn't expect him to agree with me, but I think the banality of their music speaks for itself.
